I went to college and now work for a big dot com ecommerce site. a half decent server can easily make 40k a year.i started lower than that at my real job but now make about double.the amount of work is not compatible though. be happy with your 5 dollar tip

You generally have a minimum of 2-3tables in an hour and make $3/hr for average waiter salary. So assumin all 3 tables gave only $5 you made/make $18/hr on average whiney ass

When i lived in queensland australia i managed a restuarant and tipping there was random but the min wage was based on age. My waitresses were on $20 an hour not including the odd tip and living costs were so low. I dont know why i moved

My girlfriends work at 2 other restraunts and I have worked 3 other jobs and ALL of the Cooks, Dishwashers and Cashiers/Hosts etc make a set pay higher than or at min wage etc. No tips are ever shared and only we make less than minimum. On a busy day for orders averaging 30-50 I could get $5-$10 average a table and wind up wirh nearly $30/hr

Line cooks and dishwashers work 10 hour days at minimum or a little above minimum wage. A waiter in a busy restaurant can potentially make $100/hr in 4 hour shifts depending on seating from the host. A bartender can easily triple that.
