Table of 2 yes, a $5 tip is an appropriate tip for good service, regardless of the tab (which is irrelevant to the amount and quality of service). It scales, table of 4 gets $10 if service was perfect (tab still irrelevant).
If service is not perfect, say I never got my refill, or Jimmy had to eat his fries without ketchup, then I usually just complain
