bottom freezer got me jelly. my top freezer sucks
French Door -most bang for your buck
Bottom Freezer - cold air is less dense
Top Freezer - no other option
Side by side - just shit
In that order.
this user know his fridges
okay so whats the real difference to pick a french over the bottom freezer in pic?
muh nigga
Correcting myself here. He may know fridges but not so sure about physics/chemistry. The cold air likes to stay lower to the ground because its more dense/heavier, doesn't it?
Giving up an ice/filtered water dispenser for space? Think it though user
I have a French door with a bottom freezer and while it has a ton of square footage, I really wish I had a top freezer instead.
Main reasons: storage and ice
With the freezer on the bottom, it has to roll out, meaning wheels and tracks take up precious freezer space. I go through a ton of ice in the summer and when we have people over, and I can’t have spare ice trays in there because they spill when you shut the door.
Side by side does suck ass, though.
>has a ton of square footage
yo what in the FUCK is a bottom freezer, bitch is closer to the ground and probably the power supply, gonna get warm as fuck you nigers
that is why they put heat exhaust from the exchanger at the top on those models.
Bottom freezer french door.
You seldom enter the freezer, putting it on the bottom means the refrigerator sections are easiest to access. French door mean you can have dairy on one side so you know which door to open.
Only downside is no water in the door, but I have an undersink reverse osmosis system for drinking water.
You can get a French door with water dispenser and ice maker you know
hey SHUT THE FUCK UP
Top freezer rest is for homosexuals
One should always have separate:
(a) Freezers;
(b) Refrigerators;
(c) drinks chillers;
no exceptions allowed.
French door is a pain in the ass. You have to open and close two doors each time you get something or want to look.
>Can't tell the difference
My parents have the French door one with the ice maker and water. That's goat
Top freezer sucks. You don't use a freezer that often but it in the easiest space. But then all your fresh produce which you have to use often is down at the bottom of the fridge and you're breaking your back 20 times a day reaching down for stuff.
Bottom freezer is better. But as I said above French doors blow.
The ultimate would be full fridge upstairs with water and ice in the door and a full freezer in the basement or somewhere remote to the kitchen.
Just my input.
I have a side by side and two separate freezers. I'm fine with the side by side.
I have this setup from GE and there is a water tap inside on the left wall.
To note, I hate the bottom freezer on it... it seems to always be full.
Yes
>Bottom Freezer - cold air is less dense
This is retarded.
Agreed. Top-freezer for life. Anything else is just the owner trying to look cool and get laid off the fancy design of their kitchen appliance. Nobody cares.
>and you're breaking your back 20 times a day reaching down for stuff.
found the fatty.
based.
I have a top freezer, minifridge and a chest freezer.
This guy knows luxury.
Top freezer please. Have a bottom freezer now and my old crippled ass can't get to the back. Put drawers down there and I'm fine.
>cold air is less dense
no it isn't.
> source : en.wikipedia.org
top is such shit, you can't move around items you have to take them completely out if you want something in the back
first, single-door. a longer door means you have more door-shelf room.
second, bottom freezer. you're pulling things from the freezer much less often, so the fridge should be more accessible.
bottom freezer, or better yet french door set up is the best IMO. But for ease of use I"d go for a nice side by side.
this is objectively correct
The only thing wrong here is ice trays.
So is there a bottom freezer version with a corner on top just for ice? Because that might be best of both worlds.
Bottom freezer any day.
>most convenient - fridge requires more frequent access than freezer
>most efficient use of space - no unnecessarily narrow compartments
That said, I run 4 separate fridges and freezers. Fuck that combined shit.
>2020
>not having an ice dispenser
ISHYGDDT
Top freezer if you're a lazy cunt that eats lots of frozen stuff, bottom freezer if you cook fresh mostly
>french door and side by side are whiny little cunts
>break easy and are often highly inefficient
Kinda sad, fresh ice cubes are a neat idea but how they did it just sucks ass
problem solved
my grandparents had an automatic icemaker in their bottom-freezer, the only problem was it would break if the ice shifted and hit the stop lever while it was making ice (as opposed to when it was dumping the ice into the tray)
>current year
>letting a machine decide whether you get the right amunt of ice or an entire glacier
In the age of quarantine, this has somehow become the most interesting thread to me. I never could have imagined this.
It’s called squatting and reaching. People less than 700 pounds/ under 105 years old, have no problem with this.
Don't be a cunt OP
There is nothing to argue about. Bottom freezer drawer that slides out is obviously best fridge. I will kill anyone who disagrees
Door storage is better and more diverse in french
Requires less effort to partially open a french style also the shorter doors take up less walking space when open
Found the Vegan
When you close the wrong door first on a French door and it clangs and the owner looks at you like, WTF BRO? I didn’t buy this piece of shit barn door fridge! You did! Trash it!
Only shit teir french door fridges have to be shut in a particular order
wtf, side by side is easily my favorite,
French door sucks because the double doors and the bottom freezer pulls out completely, which is annoying and makes it more difficult to know when your freezer is too full to close back up. Having to dig through a bottom freezer fucking sucks.
also and
>cold air is less dense
retarded
I actually find the door storage in a french door to be pretty average, and kinda shit if you have an ice-maker in it.
Side by side is the best because you can have the ice maker in the freezer, but still high enough that it can dispense into a cup, you dont have to have a sliding door, you dont have to deal with double door seals, etc.
Only if you buy a shit-teir fridge, Samsung ones can close either side first
Yas Forums fucking sucks though
this is easily the most interesting thread and its not a surprise at all to me
I've only ever had top and side by side but i'm sure the others are nice too calm your tits agresso
Kek can't take the truth
Master race 5 door checking in.
Being 6'5, a tall side by side would be amazing so I optimally use the top half instead of bending down like some kind of cave man because my milk only fits on the bottom fucking shelf.
the fuck?
fridge shelves are always adjustable
if they're not you have a shit fridge
We have French door in the house and a side by side in the garage. They both have their pros and cons. Grew up with a top freezer.
Ultimately I prefer the French door because we use the fridge 3x more than the freezer. It helps keep the fridge cooler as well by only opening up one side.
Imagine losing your car keys and having to look through all those drawers every time?
>you have a shit fridge
Yes, yes I do. Rental property so can't do much about it.
fair enough
They’d probably let you upgrade if you left it there when you moved out.
Anyone else think the french door one is a trap?
Like it used to be a bottom freezer and it took HRT to get the side-by-sides?
pro tip. Get a deidcated ice maker (I was looking at getting a countertop one as I make lots of cocktails) or buy a cheap freezer only and put it in your basement/garage
Ice makers are noisy as shit. It takes 2 seconds to pour water in a tray. No random cackling thunder from the kitchen while you’re trying to read or watch movies.
I prefer smaller fridges
