What is it like to have online friends to play games with?

i used to play ss13 with this dude, he was gay as fuck but quite a cool guy, i did the same with a couple o more frens, overall if you know em good, is a good experience

I mainly play minecraft and sometimes starwars battlefront 2 and sometimes risk of rain 2 on pc. I play a few singleplayer story games sometimes. but those arent important in this discussion

and then I play overwatch, tetris effect, and kingdom hearts series on ps4.

How am I supposed to not be actively trying to make friends? It's not something I can be casual about. I get too excited and clingy to them even as a friend.

I guess singleplayer wise I play. Stanley parable, ace attorney, danganronpa, islanders, bloons td6, and some game from gamejolt called icarus.

Didn't like the look of the new ones, I suppose I am pretty old school, though. Play a ton of games, but mostly older stuff, I feel like a lot of newer games just aren't that great.

I'm just going off by my experience here, people tend to be overwhelmed when you start emotionally smothering them and find it awkward, in saying that though I guess at the end of the day it depends on what kind of person you are and how you act, just try and work along their vibe and things'll go cleanly.

I do play a few rts games but I dont have them installed due to no space on computer/ I was too bad at them and didnt want to get into another game like overwatch where I have to know the meta.

It's kinda awful. You keep being excited and ask them to play games. But they never want to. And if they say yes they get annoyed and stop after 10 minutes and it turns into an argument.
Even at times where everyone seems to have fun, the next day they'll get annoyed if you wanna play again and they'll say they never wanna play with you again out of nowhere.
It's kind of awful really. Online friends don't care about you or about having a comfy group for gaemu. They just need you to fill a void of boredom at times.

Which ones? I've only ever really liked Age of Empires and Command & Conquer myself, well, for the most part anyway.
Overwatch is pretty poorly designed as far as shooters go anyway. Showed a little bit of promise early on, but really went nowhere.

It's pretty nice. I used to have someone from here to play games with, then they just left for no reason one day and now I'm alone again.

The Supreme commander series. I played both forged alliance and supreme commander 2. As well as a game with updated graphics similar to the supreme commander series called plametsty annihilation: titans.

I also played civ v and hoi iv

but all of those games have multiplayer metas that I just dont care to learn and that's the only way to play and win online.

Ans with overwatch I see it more as a fps league of legends. Which I'm okay with as the game is typically more casual to play. Especially if you arent doing ranked.

Ah, I'm familiar with the series. Think I actually got 2 from a bundle years ago.

Civilization games can be pretty fun, but I can't stand the multiplayer myself, the games are just too long.

True, it plays more like a MOBA, but I suppose that's exactly why I don't really like it.

I used to play league but now I dont. It's not that its not fun but the community is just too toxic for my taste. So I stopped playing.

I just send friend requests to people who I end up playing really well with. Funnily enough, most of them turn out to be middle schoolers, but sometimes they're dun guys to chill with. Usually they ghost me after 2-3 weeks though so I have like 20+ friends in my list who I never talk to.

The person 1 door over in my college dorm was like that. He played lots of cod I think and was always shouting and banging on his desk even though he was playing with friends. It made me kinda sad and scared honestly.

I have never gotten mad like that. But the few times I have I would instantly apologize to them because I felt really bad.

I just dont like mean people in general I gues. Even when they do it sarcastically over text. I can never tell if they are joking or not when over text because I cant hear the tone of their voice.

Online gamer friends are nice. Especially if you're really good at the game. I have no personality so the only way I can make friends is by being really good. But you can never get too close to them, they will disappear, you will never see them again. You wont even know that it is their last game ever again when it happens.

Epic games gives away free games every week to keep forever. Worth looking into. You can see all the old games they have given away. Some good ones. Notable ones to me are slime rancher and subnautica.

I used to play games with friends, but over time people would leave the group to play something new that we didn't all have and they just drifted away. The dumb drama shit got annoying as well, didn't help there was a couple girls and a few overly competitive retards that blamed everyone but themselves for losing.
At some point I just had enough of not being able to play a single-player game without them guilt tripping me, so I just stopped communicating with them. One of them practically started stalking me so that he could send me his pokemon drawings and generally just acted like a sperg. Put up with it for a few years then I snapped one day and scrubbed everyone from all friends lists.

Haven't played a game with 'friends' in years. It's a weird feeling.
