Career/Occupation Advice

>what content do you want to make
games lol
when 83' comes out i want to primarily make videos around that. i want to make other videos too, but all youtubers i notice sort of have that main game that they can go back to when all else fails, and i think i will choose that one to become my main game once it is out
honestly if i really did make videos regularly i wouldnt really care if i became popular or not, its just annoying that i cant really talk on my mic a whole lot when i play games because my parents listen to everything i say. i doubt it would become a full time job either, if i wanted to be a 'youtuber' to make money then its a boat i missed out on by about 5 or 6 years
>major
i take history in university, once i am done i will probably go and get some government job in ottawa since i hate it here in my city and my job will make it kind of easy to get into what i want

If you are starving must work wagie job. If you have it mapped out work at it everyday for at least an hour-two hours. Put away hentai and Yas Forums for a little bit. To have hope you must look at your past accomplishments and failures. Find out what kind of patterns work for you. Find and read about other people similar to you. As for how do you deal with missing out on things, realize we will all be dead one day. So look forward to another day to make the things you missed out on happen. You can focus on the past or be on the present.

I think wizards are pretty awesome

You must focus on creating video about 83' now than. Just create, don't overthink it. Don't wait til it comes out because people will already be tapped into it. Make videos about the game and expectations. You are very concerned about you parents. If you have no money, find a comfy part time job or job on campus. Many jobs are hiring during corona. Like other user said moving out will make things easier. Even if they listen, still make the videos. See how your brain reacts. I know I sound like a fag saying this but your brain is wired to care what your parents think. Another think you could do is be direct and tell them you want privacy. If all fails make the videos in a car or at another location if you can. Collab with other gaming youtubers who have low views, cross promote. Do live streams. If you are willing to show your face you will get more views. This guy is perfect example of simple youtube videos getting multiple views:

You have a couple years so see what happens. You could do history of video games is a unique idea that could get more views than just regular gaming views and is niche focused. If your degree allows you to get easy job take it. But only if you desire. If it allows you to move, sound fine.

I want to be a commercial pilot and am going through flight school. Idk what kind of degree I should go for as ive been told that nobody cares what field your degree is in the airline industry. A big issue with this is that its really expensive and ill be super poor for a long while

I want to work in IT. I think I have a long ways to go but I am slowly building up my knowledge. It's probably a little too late to get far considering that I am 27 yrs old. On the side, I also do music. I love music and it's been a part of my entire life. I like to play piano especially since that's my favorite instrument. I also appreciate subjects like math and of course, I love history. When I was a child, I doodled my favorite cartoon and video games characters.

I "program" surveys for a living. How can I go from that to an actual programmer?

I have some computer vision projects I'm working on and a STEM degree.

Secondly, what would you say is a good plan to have during the current economic contraction. We're already at 10+% unemployment and likely to increase to 35%.

I want to work in industrial design, or maybe furniture design. Currently 2 years into a bachelor's in biomedical engineering. I absolutely hate it, and I'm probably about to fail most of my classes this semester because I can't find any motivation to put effort into them when I don't enjoy them and dread a future of working in engineering. I'm conflicted because I feel like it would be stupid to give up the possibility of a high-paying engineering job just to spend extra time in uni for a lower paying career. I don't look forward to the possibility of being an engineer but I also don't look forward to 6 year's worth of college debt and a low-paying job in the creative field when we're about to enter a recession.
Is it worth fucking myself over financially just to have a career I'd actually enjoy?

My dream is to build the first rocket that takes us to Mars
I don't know how much advice anyone here has for this, but idk if taking aerospace engineering as my college major was the right choice. Maybe should've gone mech e instead. Should I attempt a major transfer? Specifically looking to do something with composites, design, or manufacturing anyways, probably for SpaceX unless NASA gets their shit together (highly unlikely at this point)

you could probably get a technician degree from a two year school. I think only major airlines need a 4 year degree anyway. If you're set on flying for a major, study business or even computer science, cs is harder than business but would pay better if being a pilot doesn't work out.

I'm retarded and accidentally typed in the name field, ignore that
