Please stop. Wait to build your computer around the first set of chips build around DDR5.

ddr5
more like ddrflop
Just yesterday I was thinking about buying DDR3 ram just to stretch one more year out of my 8 or 9 years old system. So there is that.
>building pc with new ram and early adopter tax
What a fucking retard, enjoy 12%increase at 5 times the price
Also buying a new mobo juat for a meme sticks
i've been collecting monies (neet) for a pc since febuary. Have enough for a gpu and cpu right now. If I wait I might just spend that money as im an impulsive buyer.
Do it, and then make the jump straight to 5 when it releases next year. Skip 4 alltogether
the ps4 already has ddr5 and that shit is slow as fuck. lel
>building a PC ever and not just eternally waiting
Just wait.
Alright bro. I'll pull the trigger and order some bars tomorrow morning.
wouldnt you also need a new mobo for this?
> building a PC before the Ryzen 4000 desktop chips come out
cmon now, you know better than this.
>make upgrade when pricing is best
>tech advances like a month later
This always happens.
RAM speed mattering is such a meme
>buying Ryzen 4000 and not waiting for Ryzen 5000
>speed is increased
>but timings also get worse
It barely is an upgrade at all outside of like using it with ryzen APUs
My windows boots in 10 seconds, I have barely no loading times on new games thanks to my SSD.
The expected return for buying a new DDR5 is ridiculously low now with our current tech.
yes
ram speed does matter, but has diminishing returns as of right now. doubt ddr5 will change that.
anybody upgrading/waiting right now won't be doing it just for ram, but to upgrade their existing pc.
if ram bandiwdth mattered I'd run in quad channel
Updraded my motherboard to 32gb of ram for workstationy stuff, when's ddr5 dropping friends?
>waiting for 5000 and not 23000
>buying
is there a website that keep me informed on the ETA of new gen upgrades?
10 months.
your consumer board doesn't even support quad, and you're probably not even saturating dual channel
no shit, pricing is best when nobody wants to buy it anymore
quad channel support is common and your point about not saturating dual channel is pointless
How the fuck is upgrading your machine necessarily real Hahahaha Nigga just wait another ten years
show me quad channel on a consumer board
It does with very specific games, e.g. Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress.
Awesome, was thinking of upgrading to threadripper, going to wait it out a couple more months then for the ddr5 mobos.
Who cares? According to Yas Forums literally any time is the worst time to build a PC.
>think this guide is a joke
>buy 16 more gigs of DDR4 dominator
>now my computer wont go into HDR mode and is stuck at 8 bit color depth
AAHHHHH I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE CHART
that’s because the board is full of console children
I lost a few IQ points reading this garbage, I want them back
Literally this, im waiting till 2021 to buy a gaming laptop
>not waiting for ddr6
heh
>not waiting for ddr7
enjoy not being space-gaming compatible
imagine being this low iq
Actually history shows that there is no tax for new ram. DDR4 was the same price as DDR3 at first. It only went up because of the RAM shortage.
Yeah, whoever wrote it needs to git gud. The Vengeance is basically the "press X to win" RAM in the right hands and people have been demanding it get nerfed for ages because they constantly get wrecked by a dude sporting 32gigs of it.
DDR5 came out in 2001.
dumb fuck
why not just wait for DDR6 if you like waiting so much?
Actually the return will be something like 10 to 20fps in games.
You can get 16gb of 3600 ddr4 ram for 75 bucks, there's no point getting anything else.
yeah we’re waiting on the remaster
I'm just waiting for the new Ryzen CPUs.
>waiting for ddr7
bitch, I'm already enjoying ddrX
>meme cpu
>8gigs
>radeon hd
my man, how the fuck can you even watch videos?
>buy brand new technology
>faulty/overpriced
>buy too old shit
>too old to be worth
you need to find the middle ground
it is never a good time to buy or build a PC. it will always be a month away from a sale, 3 months away from new parts, 6 months away from new tech, a year away from sales across miriad of products
buy used if you plan on 1080p60 gaming and no rtx. if not, wait a bit, you might get rtx 2k cards for cheap in half year
720p
RAM is cheap anyway. Just buy what you need.
