I'm not crippled so I'm not gonna dig too far into it, but I feel like even if you're crippled (which sucks) there are still real world things worth living for.

FFTA's message about escapism works because Marche too benefitted from the fantasy world where he could finally be respected as a hero and have attention on him for once instead of his cripple brother, so it makes it more respectable that he chose reality over the false world. On the other hand, Joker's entire existence is an escapist power fantasy for edgy losers, so the thought that his entire game is about rejecting a fantasy world where everything works out is fucking insulting to the player's common sense
