Whatever happened to Armored Core? Why did From Software forget all about it?
1 or 3
Nexus is the first one with analog controls, but isn't recommended to start with since you'll get assraped by the heat mechanics and won't get to see the glory of pre-magazine machine guns.
Yeah, this is more or less the reason why I would prefer FROM to make a mecha game. While the story is there, they make sure your character doesn't speak or overcringe the story too much.
>its a bioweapon/pestcontrol mission
>he didn't get the head that has all the features and never change it
>not using the based antenna head on all missions in your first playthrough
Your own fault desu
The worst thing about Daemon x Machina is that coming from Armored Core, tonally the game feels like it simultaneously wants to be both Armored Core and a generic anime mech romp about youngsters saving the world.
Every character is a mercenary, but no one ever kills each other during a mission, everyone is so fucking goody two shoes except few madmen that even get saved by the heroes because "killing is badbad and everyone should just be friends instead". There are competing companies like in Armored Core who give out assignments, but they have no character whatsoever and nearly the entire game is solely about fighting unmanned AI that threaten the humanity as a whole. Missions are scripted as fuck with shit like enemies becoming invincible at 1HP in a mission where you're supposed to escape, whereas something like Last Raven even had diverging story paths if you went out of your way to murder pursuing pilots instead of just escaping and finishing the mission objective. It's absolutely maddening, moreso than the gameplay and mech customization being AC:FA-lite.
Any good steam games that replicate the feel other than Deamon X machina?
I just reinstalled Break Arts 2, Damascus gear and
Strike suit infinity

Even in Armored Core 1, you could easily see the escalation of the company you're fight against going full armageddon weapon tier (Murakumo gets a space cannon that cause the people to go underground years ago while Chrome release an AI giant super weapon mecha), and the game give you a short movie for defeating either company. No cringe, or anything.
