Doesn't bring nearly as much money as churning out Action RPGs one after the other, specially considering the amount of autists who worship every game from DeS to Sekiro.
There's a strong chance we'll never see FROM make anything other than that garbage for at least a few more years.

What's the best emulatable AC if I want to get started in the series?

Attached: raises hoof.jpg (620x413, 47.68K)

It was all AgeTec that made AC great.

They made a little VR game and have like 3 projects in dev, wouldn't be at all surprising if one was AC related.
The real niggas want a Chromehounds revival

AC3 its the easiest

I would argue 3, but only cause it lets you dive into Silent Line which is (in my opinion) the strongest AC game.

They have announced these proejcts many many years ago and have shown absolutely nothing in terms of progress, not even a "hey guys we're doing it" so I'm a bit pessimistic about the whole ordeal.

If we do get a new AC (Which I doubt) do you reckon it'd be fast-paced like 4/FA, slow and jank like 5/VD, or would it take the serious back into 3/SL days? I personally would prefer either a mix between 3 and 4, not anime speeds, but slightly faster than 3.

>tfw if it's not by From, Clover or Platinum it isn't worth playing

For me, its more or less that you're a mercenary, and they don't show you human aspect all that much. You take money from a company to sabotage another company, no question asked.

>when your workers are peacefully protesting for better rights so you hire a mercenary to kill them all

Why are they peacefully protesting with combat mechs?

Purely (((precautionary)))

Which is part of what made DaemonxMachina so shit. Nothing but anime stereotype cringe with robots in the back seat. Hate this site for convincing me to buy that.

I am pretty sure MT aren't consider "peaceful". Chrome > Murakumo

Armored Core 3 continuity is a good starting point, and both it and SL are better emulated than originals anyways because you can rebind controls to analog sticks. Games before Nexus didn't work with those. AC3 also reboots the story so it's a fresh start in that sense as well. Play them in order AC3 > AC:SL > AC:Nexus > AC:LR. They share one continuous storyline and you can also save file transfer between them, except SL and Nexus because of engine changes. You especially want to do that for LR because it's ridiculously hard even if you start out with a fully kitted out mech.

At least you didn't spend $70 on a physical copy of God Hand only to realise you're not that into the game

Taking a vacation, will come back on PS5 through yet another FromSoft x JapanStudios collab, with a new engine and god-tier Sony paid-for real orchestral OST.

this shit was announce more than 5 years ago now. whatever it was it ain't happening. I'm tired of seeing you guys post this every time as if it was announced yesterday.

>distribution center recon?
>fucking easy mode, I played all the previous games so I'll kick ass
>o-oh

1 or 3
Nexus is the first one with analog controls, but isn't recommended to start with since you'll get assraped by the heat mechanics and won't get to see the glory of pre-magazine machine guns.

Yeah, this is more or less the reason why I would prefer FROM to make a mecha game. While the story is there, they make sure your character doesn't speak or overcringe the story too much.

>its a bioweapon/pestcontrol mission

Attached: untargetable.jpg (979x854, 78.89K)

>he didn't get the head that has all the features and never change it

>not using the based antenna head on all missions in your first playthrough
Your own fault desu

The worst thing about Daemon x Machina is that coming from Armored Core, tonally the game feels like it simultaneously wants to be both Armored Core and a generic anime mech romp about youngsters saving the world.

Every character is a mercenary, but no one ever kills each other during a mission, everyone is so fucking goody two shoes except few madmen that even get saved by the heroes because "killing is badbad and everyone should just be friends instead". There are competing companies like in Armored Core who give out assignments, but they have no character whatsoever and nearly the entire game is solely about fighting unmanned AI that threaten the humanity as a whole. Missions are scripted as fuck with shit like enemies becoming invincible at 1HP in a mission where you're supposed to escape, whereas something like Last Raven even had diverging story paths if you went out of your way to murder pursuing pilots instead of just escaping and finishing the mission objective. It's absolutely maddening, moreso than the gameplay and mech customization being AC:FA-lite.

Any good steam games that replicate the feel other than Deamon X machina?
I just reinstalled Break Arts 2, Damascus gear and
Strike suit infinity

>Armored Core
>Orchestral

Even in Armored Core 1, you could easily see the escalation of the company you're fight against going full armageddon weapon tier (Murakumo gets a space cannon that cause the people to go underground years ago while Chrome release an AI giant super weapon mecha), and the game give you a short movie for defeating either company. No cringe, or anything.

Ahh man that's what i love about Armored Core, the super Cheesy writing but i fucking love it.
>If only we had met under different circumstances
>You have got to live and die by your own rules!
>No, Not like this!
youtube.com/watch?v=u2G2f34CL1w
this trailer always gives me chills.

The game was just so low quality too. Environments look like ps2 graphics, absolutely no lighting/shadow work, all the sound effects seemed like public domain sound bites.

And then all the fucking nu-anime garbage characters and story. Probably the best was seeing the mechs move in stereotypical anime motions during conversations. Its like the whole game was designed by Kojima but instead of wanting to make movies, he wanted to make moe anime.

>now let's see which one of us will have the title of Last Raven!

>nu-anime
Please stop posting then kill yourself

hope they never go back to it because that overblown spiky anime robot aesthetic ruined the series

Zinaida, Maggie, Anatolias raven.
Thems good female characters, though i'm glad the twitter mob doesn't know cause i'm happier with no game and good memories than a super pozzed new one.
it is though. Things change man.

Anyone who says "nu-anime" has no idea what they're talking about and thinks Cowboy Bebop is a masterpiece

I like the white glint design and all the nexts, i think it was also made to show the player just how much stronger these things were than normals.
I just hope whatever they do they don't make another 5. I enjoyed it out of scarcity.
I think the success of souls game has them wanting to do the same with Ac games but i think personally it's best if they just release something for the small niche audience
Fuck yah got me.

>"To live as I please, and die a senseless death, that is who I am"
>"Hey. I guess there's little need for words..."
>"I just don't want to face defeat again. Not to anything or anyone."
Holy mother of kino. AC games always have the greatest lines, too bad AC6 never ever.

>an entire generation of no Armored Core
>all because of Souls

Didn't they change their twitter background to AC-related a few months ago? what was that all about?

When is From going to continue this series?

Attached: 1353918147-00.jpg (640x738, 129.59K)

Right? This and the other great Ac series have the best short and sweet story.

I'm talking about Assasins creed of course,
lmao i kid, Ace Combat has that super great raw emotion too. OF being an elite top notch pilot puting everything on the line for your goals and ideals.

This will always be my go-to video for armored core.

They released that PS4 theme that was Japan only. I think that was the latest AC related release they've done. It was a pretty bad theme.

What term would you rather I say? I don't think anime stereotypes are inherently bad, but just dumping them on a picture and calling it a character isn't good writing.

>producer who worked from the start fucked off
>Guys bailed at various points up to VD to different places (i.e Marvelous, Squeenix, made their own studios, etc)
>Too busy making soulsborne only since it makes bank
Honestly It's sad that it missed an entire console gen. Not to mention all we get is "we're working on it".
SMTV or MP4 or Bayo 3's nothing compared to this.

Attached: 1584237721960.jpg (428x424, 16.04K)

If From relied on AC, the company would no longer exist

"anime stereotypes" or "anime writing" doesn't even make sense for a start because anime is such a wide and varied medium
DxM is a bad game with worse characters, that's what you should've said

>tfw you'll never get to pilot White Glint

Attached: 1579963230476.jpg (1024x680, 493.24K)

it got stale and boring, same parts were always good, same parts were always bad.

I wish I could get into armored core. But no pc releases. Also, need I remind you that ziggers think fromsoft started with souls?

Its kind of hard to tell what would one call it. If you have game base on something prominent, and then decided to add anime characters to overshadow the main draw, like Monster Hunter Riders focus on anime character over MONSTERS, then you got an issue.

Guaranteed you didn't pass the Raven test

>you will never be a Mech Pilot
>Selling your skills to the highest bidder and making a name for yourself on the battlefield
>you will never forge bonds and rivalries as you're forced to fight the only people who can relate to you
you'll never fake your death and try to free civilization from the corporations grasp

>not wanting to pilot your own mecha that you work hard on

I liked NEXTs.
Normally ran Omer or Interior union ones though, liked the aesthetic

MH has always had a focus on characters as well as your personal story though, especially when Riders is more kid friendly
You'd have to not know anything about MH to make a post that dumb

you would never do that anyway because you're a stinky neet, and you would still be so in the corporate dystopia of armored core

I just want to live in the patlabor universe
I want a labor.

Guaranteed I've spent more time on the games than you've been alive lad.

>defeating a Ranking AC in an arena quest
>they disappear in the ranking list

Jokes on you i'm not a stinky neet.
I'd fucking become a soldier, then a normal pilot work my way up.
I'd become a force of nature!

The PS3 games feel in a bit of weird position regarding gameplay changes. In previous games leg-types mattered a lot, especially for heavy weapons and whether the ACs could use them while moving or not. ACFA then made all of them very samey by turning every mech into a quick-boosting fairy skimming across the battlefield. ACV then went into the exact opposite direction and made leg types matter even more than the old games, to the point tank-types could only slightly float (making some missions impossible), turned quads into dedicated snipers with manual aiming, and gave all weapons very noticable bullet drop as well, plus a weird multiplayer focus that also meant you'd always be forced to play as a jack of all trades due to lolnoplayers.

If they ever revive AC I'd prefer if they just went back to the roots and tried improving the PS2 games' mechanics rather than trying to reinvent the wheel again. Give us a single player campaign with multiple paths.

How did you spend more time on the games you got filtered by in the first minute?

I'm different, I played 2, Nexus, Arena and LAst Raven but really fell in love with 4 and 4A.
I agree V was really way out of the loop and while it was interesting i think they dropped the ball ui was worse, sound was annoying as shit especially with the overture weapons that destroyed your screen and made it so all you'd hear was
BEEP BEEP WARNING WARNING.
I'd like a mix of last raven but with the speed of 4a, or at least toned down just a bit

Fuck Armored Core, where's my new Tenchu game? Oh, wait, that's right, Miyazaki co-opted it

>there are user that are willing to be experimented just to be a Human PLUS
