Whatever happened to Armored Core? Why did From Software forget all about it?

For me, its more or less that you're a mercenary, and they don't show you human aspect all that much. You take money from a company to sabotage another company, no question asked.

>when your workers are peacefully protesting for better rights so you hire a mercenary to kill them all

Why are they peacefully protesting with combat mechs?

Purely (((precautionary)))

Which is part of what made DaemonxMachina so shit. Nothing but anime stereotype cringe with robots in the back seat. Hate this site for convincing me to buy that.

I am pretty sure MT aren't consider "peaceful". Chrome > Murakumo

Armored Core 3 continuity is a good starting point, and both it and SL are better emulated than originals anyways because you can rebind controls to analog sticks. Games before Nexus didn't work with those. AC3 also reboots the story so it's a fresh start in that sense as well. Play them in order AC3 > AC:SL > AC:Nexus > AC:LR. They share one continuous storyline and you can also save file transfer between them, except SL and Nexus because of engine changes. You especially want to do that for LR because it's ridiculously hard even if you start out with a fully kitted out mech.

At least you didn't spend $70 on a physical copy of God Hand only to realise you're not that into the game

Taking a vacation, will come back on PS5 through yet another FromSoft x JapanStudios collab, with a new engine and god-tier Sony paid-for real orchestral OST.
