The rest is people who already don't like Half-Life or the folks mad about it not being HL3 and/or not having Laidlaw fully involved.

Because it does absolutely nothing new. There are absolutely zero new game mechanics Half-Life: Alyx brings to the table for VR.
Everything has been done before it. VR is a completed input, there's nothing more interesting that can be done

Aside from the vehicle sections, HL1 and 2 could be ported to VR with a teleport option just like a decent number of other games have already done. People new enough to VR to be using that option would still be more impressed by teleporting across the bridge than they would jumping across with mouse and keyboard.
When is the last time something significantly new has come out in any video game? Have you just give up on games, but just keep complaining about them on Yas Forums to try and get everyone else to stop too?

The problem is that pancake games will always feel different, or have some trick to them. Whether its a platformer, FPS, strategy or whatever.
Every VR game plays EXACTLY the same. You can't change it because you're using the human body for input.

because VR is trash and no one cares about Alyx. It's not a Half-Life game. Back in the day Doom 3 was up against Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 was pretty much better except that Doom 3 had better rendering tech and the soul cube was neat. This time Doom 5 is up against Half-Life Alyx.
