I wouldn't do that. I'd spread it around. Energy stocks are cheap and will likely recover, particularly fracking. US supply chain including chips and tech hardware, raw materials and manufacturing, and logistics are going to improve because globalization is going to take a big step back, but beware of companies with no plan to decouple from China/SE Asia. I'd stay far away from travel-related stocks. I'm iffy on gold, big on silver because the silver/gold ratio is still higher than throughout history. If you'd asked me 2 weeks ago I would've said I like Ford, but now I'd be more cautious about it because people don't tend to buy cars when they are unemployed. Retail is scary risk right now, but no risk means no reward. If you buy stocks, spread the money around and diversify because anyone can fail in an instant right now.

I am several amounts poorer than you, but invested $500 of student loans in 8 different mutual funds and doubled my money, so odds are I can do a similar thing with $1200. It really sucks trying to turn nothing into something.
If you keep some liquidity on hand during your lifetime, you will do really well to avoid debt and buy assets cheap during hard times and hang on to them until the good times. If you live your life like this, you'll have many comfy times ahead.
