I eagerly await constant threads about this series every time a casting decision is made, when set photos are leaked, when trailers are released, when shitty reviews are written, and when the show is airing/gets renewed for another godawful season
And every single opinion about every single facet of the show, from everybody, and how these opinions are compounded against all other opinions about Star Wars
Oh no wait, did I say eagerly? I meant I wish I was fucking dead
Are you ready for another flop and media drama?
Disney has always been awful at appealing to boys/males. They made sword in the stone, based off the King Arthur IP which is THE male story and made it lack luster and have never returned. Then they actually did well with the Hercules film but again, refuse to make the most of what they have there. Treasure planet was a flop, great mouse detective is completely under utilised. Pinochio, like mouse detective, is fun but there's nothing "manly" for older males.
Aside from hercules, the only really time they really got it right targeting boys was sleeping beauty, but they turned that into all about women with maleficent. That's why they milk the shit out of Cars. Disney (and lucas)) don't understand that boys don't actually fantasise and self insert about stories about boys (sword and the stone, pinocchio, star wars episode 1) they want to watch tales of men doing brave deads (Hercules, sleeping beauty, other lucas stars films, marvel) or just fighting (star wars, piratesOTC, marvel). So long as they keep this progressive agenda they'll never have an IP that males go crazy for, marvel is their last bastion of appealing to male currently, and even that's just manchildren.
The universe is trying so hard to tell you to step away from these things. They aren't for you. Wake up. Wake up...
> Is the library agenda so precious in Hollywood that they're willing to lose money with flop after flop?
When we live in a world where people with money never ever have to be held accountable for their actions, then yeah.
It used to be. The war will change that.
Ghostbusters all over again.
Was Sleeping Beauty really that male-centric? Seems more in line with their other princess movies.
Why cant they understand that girls like watching dudebro shit too? Bitches loved Mando, just make more of that shit. If its done well theyll like anything. I mean it did have baby yoda but still.
Bro how the fuck can you ignore that Lion King is one of the most culturally significant male coming of age stories ever produced in American media?
Hmmm kind of true. Never look at it that way. It's just an inherent problem Disney has always had.
