What are you learning?
I have no motivation to learn another language. Tried Spanish but Spanish media is just worse than English in every aspect. I really don't see any reason to learn a language beyond English when English has more, better news, media of just everything
Japanese has great media and pretty thought-provoking journalism. If you're willing to put in the effort, it's definitely worth it imo.

Spanish-language journalism is a joke, but there is some very good Spanish-language film if you look for it. Latin America produces a lot of pure shit movies just like the US, but there is definitely some quality material out there. There's also some good Spanish literature that loses its tone when translated into English. I'm reading a García Márquez novel right now, and I was discussing with a friend about how the entire tone changes when translated into English because English lacks the subtlety that Spanish can accomplish.
Can you elaborate on the finding a German gf on culturepals part, Argiebro? I want to learn German too.
