It is contradictory, since prog-punk is just rock.
It's a progression of rock combined with a degression of rock, which is just rock.
Unless prog punk randomly switches between progressive rock and punk, which would be interesting.

Updated chart.

Someone tell me if I should include Wire? I've only heard their debut. I wouldn't know how much progressive rock-theory is included in their second and third albums.

I left out Drive Like Jehu because it goes too much into post hardcore territory and pure post-hardcore is kind of cheating.

Not all art punk is prog punk, though most do have some prog elements in them. I'm looking for the purest concoction of just pure punk mixed with pure progressive rock, if that makes sense.

whoops forgot to include actual chart, haha

154 is closer to prog-punk than their debut but compared to most of the albums here it's not that deserving of a place

you're retarded if you actually think this

durutti column maybe

No, it'd be more complicated than that. Prog Punk is the simplistic sound of punk combined with the mathematical intricacy of Prog rock. Marquee Moon, The Greatest Gift, Wrong, and Sing to God are in my opinion the best albums that represent this blend.

ad yeah, prog punk that randomly switches between progressive rock and punk is as interesting as it sounds! so far, in my opinion, the only album
that has managed to pull this off is The Greatest Gift by Scratch Acid.
