stupid orange wop motherfucker
The older I get the more I realize he was right about The Beatles...
its sad that scruffy = beatles bad. the truth is they are kind of irrelevant and have been for years but boomer nostalgia has kept them artificially alive way past the expiry date. nu-woke zoomers will revise their legacy in our lifetime and it will be called wifebeatgate
>the truth is they are kind of irrelevant and have been for years
They've been saying that for 40 years ya dummy
>The older I get the more I realize he was right about The Beatles.
There were literal errors, omissions and contradictions in his Beatles essay
>Overrated manufactured boy band
They could not have been, since they formed six years before they became famous and toured by themselves.
>Many better, more innovative bands during their times, let alone all times.
Innovation isn't relevant.
>the songwriting isn't as good either, especially the songwriting of the doors. reed is a great lyricist but his attempts at pop songs don't stand well against the beatles. the beatles are hook after hook after hook, so many of their songs are catchy and memorable
I think there is a disconnect here. If you are judging them as a pop band, then yes, the beatles are better. But if you look at the best few songs each band put out, VU and the Doors blow the beatles out of the water in almost every way. How far does having catchy hooks really go?
That said, I do like the beatles a lot.
The Beach Boys
i said i liked it the best of their psychedelic stuff already. i'm just more likely personally to listen to say rubber soul
>But if you look at the best few songs each band put out, VU and the Doors blow the beatles out of the water in almost every way.
how so?
definitely not, that's one of the most overrated meme bands i can think of
projecting
at 16, it felt like an epic meme copypaste
at 24, it feels like one of the most important essays in music criticism history
>manufactured boyband
Ya, because the Beatles didn't play their instruments nor write their own songs
