How is it possible for such a popular album be falsely called a "plebe filter"? Let's face it; this album is pop. It's not a masterpiece. It's not that good. Yet, if you call it shit, the hivemind of Yas Forums defends it. Tell me, how is this possible?

It’s still original
shit album no matter how you look at it. Not all albums with awful, ear grating "melodies" are pleb filter
Good album, with much probability not the album of the decade and not as good as the idler wheel
>this album is pop. It's not a masterpiece
filtered
>Let's face it; this album is pop. It's not a masterpiece
So then I assume you also think every historically critically acclaimed pop artist (Beatles, Beach Boys, Kanye West, Prince, Michael Jackson, Bowie, Fleetwood Mac) are all overrated shit? Just trying to make sure we are being consistent here
I hate that it's so fucking repetitive. At least the vocal lines arfe. Its a shame cause the instrumentation and stuff is cool.
Popular things bad
don't you realize its both sides fighting at the middle? people who love get shitposted by the haters, the haters the hate it get shitposted by the fans.
i.e. the cycle of Yas Forums
its only filtering newsom fanboys and women-haters
its a masterpiece that'll be celebrate decades from now
>Beatles
Yes, rock was generally a mistake.
>Beach Boys
Some catchy tunes I suppose.
>Kanye
Lol
>Prince
Uhh hahaha.. If you think Purple Rain was in anyway profound then I have some bad news for you..
>Michael Jackson
Again, catchy tunes don't make you a great artist. Twinkle Twinkle little star is definitely catchy; still not Beethoven.
>Bowie
Some good songs, I guess. No masterpieces though. Generally a conman.
>Fleetwood Mac
Lol come on man!
epic
Pretentious if you dont think Bowie or Beach Boys ever had any good tunes. Whats good Music to you then?
how is it possible for those who are pleb filtered to never realize theyre being filtered? It's always the "other," never themselves that are being filtered. They can never accept the idea that its THEIR own bad taste that leads to their shortcoming of judgment. They have no idea how to rationalize this, it completely implodes their worldview so when an album doesn't meet their idiosyncratic idea of perfection, and gets praised for aspects that are practically invisible to them, they start SQUEALING about how unjust and blind the board is. The hilarious irony is that they dont have the means to unpack this dense sonic experiment. Therefore, they scramble for scapegoats -- its identity politics! shes a woman! etc etc, getting dragged down under the weight of their lies and copes until they form the freshest layer of seabed, together with all the other right-wing coping scum, perpetually crushed by the immense ocean of talent above

hidden track off her latest album
You have to wonder how many of these people acting like it’s the one of greatest albums of the millennium have even bothered to listen to Idler Wheel or Tidal. You have to wonder how many even fucking knew anything about her before this.
I personally thought that The Idler Wheel was a much better album. More cohesive instrumentation, and the pain Fiona is releasing on that album is quite substantial.
Also, Bolt Cutters has this artsy lo-fi (but not really lo-fi) production that just doesn’t match her songwriting, in my opinion. The lyrics come off as cringeworthy at certain times, and I don’t feel the “soul” in her expressive vocals. Once again, her vocals are expressive, but not soulful.
Not like this
someone's mad they were filtered
This whole thing got me to look at her albums in general and I'm already leaning towards those two being her best. Bolt Cutters was alright, more appreciable for the attempt than the actual songs.
Objectively the idler wheel is her best one
best post i've ever read on this board
Idler Wheel > FTB > Tidal > EM imo
Record studios push an online campaign to label it "aoty" and all the simps fall in line because muh artsy strong indepandent wahmen.
what the fuck do you listen to?
It's really precious. Not bad, but pretty mediocre. Definitely appeals to the biases of urbane music critics.
>if you bring up an album and call it shit, on a board intended for discussion, you will start a discussion
How could this keep happening??
album sucks man
imagine not hating women
you really haven't listened to her before, have you? you prob hat kate bush and tori amos and the like as well i bet
t. born after her career started
shut up faggot
Literally never heard anyone mention this album once in my life
