Haven’t listened to this but from looking at the waveforms, here is the likely issue. Too much compression, not enough focus on a tight limiting and narrow sound. Limiters are a lot more forgiving than compressors more often than not. So clearly from what I’m seeing the sound engineer fucked up either in the mixing or mastering phase and used a compressor with a high ratio to hurt the performance dynamics and the beats themselves, then proceeded to use a maximizer to again rebrutalize it. Rap music needs to be loud and have tight limiting, not an overcompressed sound with a long attack time. Otherwise, if the beats cannot properly fit together in harmony, the mix might as well be scrapped.
