Your music would benefit a lot by better mixing/mastering. The composition itself is cool but the mix is quite flat and dead sounding.

This album has a cool concept that you can read in the description of the video. I usually make synthwave music but decided to dabble in more new agey sounding stuff.

This is really cool. Some of the songs remind me of gamecube game beach level soundtracks (that's a good thing). I feel like a lot of it is city-poppish, but it could just be because of the upbeat midi instruments. Really well done and even more impressive knowing it's sample free.

It's been been over a year and a half since I uploaded anything but I guess now is as good as time as any to start releasing new music.

Let me know what you think!

Really interesting sounds man, I love the part after 1:52, really dark. What kind of gear do you use? The mix is very nice too, great use of panning.

DO NOT get offended if someone says your music sucks

cause if you have to remind people of the other things, this should be one of them

this is me
I love the melodic dissonance on this one. makes it feel eerie. that's a really good strength to have.
I like the composition on this. The production is also well done, which is something I don't really know about. The tropical sound might be a little antiquated though... I think the way you're blending it into a unique style is on the right track tho

Really like the feeling from this. Reminds me somehow of japanese math rock. Really enjoyed the video as well. I would love if the vocals were cranked up just a tad. Rest of the mix is really well done.

Do you have a soundcloud?

Great mix of things going on here. Slight tension and uneasiness from unresolved melodies but the softness of your voice blends everything together well. Like a twisted simon&garfunkel. Think I recall seeing you in one of these threads quite a while ago. Maybe around a year.

Hope y'all enjoy! If you do, show your support by liking, reposting, sharing, and or following!

I like the rythem and lighthearted ltofi tone the track has. I do feel that there could be better mastering to really give everything an extra kick. It's a relaxing, fuffiling track and thats really all it needs to be. I think it loses a bit of focus and consistency between the intro, body, and conclusion. Theres a bit of disconnect between sounds.
Bleak sounds rough, defiantly in your face, and I think that's what it's meant to be. I do feel it is a bit repetitive and after a while, suffers from this by becoming bit of a noise blur. The buildup at the end was pretty good but for barely 2 minutes I do think a little more variety is in order
I think the vocals need touch up and the singing needs practice. The production isnt too bad but I think the mastering isn't able to carry the vocals. The instrumental is nice

rex:
I like the music, the beats are a bit basic and I'm not really a fan of the vocals. Sick chord choices though, you're clearly putting across that jazz vibe effectively sir.
a bit basic, doesn't have heaps of personality but definitely has potential to develop something unique. Very 80s and I guess new age so you've put across what you were going for.
music is fine, not super challenging at all, I feel like you're going for a cheery smiths vibe but the vocals don't really sell it. I like the tone of the voice but I think you need either some vocal lessons or to practice singing scales before recording so you can properly access your range.
you definitely captured 3AM in a vibe here which is really cool to hear, the vocal is convincing and sells the tune. Video is a good edition also, I like the cinematography and the humorous element. May have dragged on a little longer than necessary.

thanks broski! and of course I'm reccin your EP as usual, great shit

this is pretty cool and dark, but the next one you make should me a bit denser, a bit more dynamic. throw the same amount of ideas in a shorter time span.
and thanks for the constant appreciation.

you have a good voice and the track sounds pretty. never listened to nmh tho so I dunno what the difference is or isn't but it's p good

bleak is the whole album. were you talking about grain?
also, I can't get you being serious about it being noisy when it's meant to be.
try the rest of the album for more variety.

Damn, this is great. I'm not sure about that synth at the end that you made it to sound atonal, but the rest of the track worked really well for me.

pleasant to listen to! right when i get a lil tired of the current riff u sorta change it up and make it sound fresh
gnarly guitar tones but I think it can be bigger. i'd prefer the drums to be more prominent. i like the pic attached with it
really love it when the soft lil melody comes in. i like the evolution to it all, could've been shorter ig but im also guilty of making tracks a bit longer than they ought to be

This is REALLY good. The mix is fantastic as well.

Could be pretty cool with the right vocals. I think the tempo could be a bit faster but I get that with it being grunge it's probably a little slow on purpose.

Still trying to figure yourself out?
Ok, here's what you really need to know. Bass is integral to music. It's is the true backbone to all music. Drums/Beats are ONLY rhythm, and guitars/synths etc are ONLY melody. But bass? Bass is BOTH. That's why bass makes or breaks a song. So when in doubt BOOST it out!
Not bad overall, but bro heres a tip for getting your guitars to actually sound heavy:
Turn knobs marked "gain" or "overdrive"
all the way up. Turn other volume
knobs down to get the loudness
you want. Once you've proved
you can get heavy distortion,
dial things back to find the tone
you want. Focus on being LOUD!!
Some amps won't distort at low
volumes, mainly because that's
dumb as all hell LOL. If yours is like
this, either just play loud or give up.

I think it's actually really sad. He thought he would get attention by posting the most links, which he did. And when he got negative attention, he started fighting back with (You)s, and petty bullshit, and over time gained a reputation for being a faggot. Now he's trying to distance himself from his old Dubbi name, but he really just can't stop being a faggot. Deep down, he just wants people to listen to his shitty Mr. Bungle ctrl+v. But it's too late. Everyone hates him now. He will literally never go anywhere because we all know.

Work on making some music that's at least 103bpm faster, that's about the speed that'll improve your style on sonics.Don't be afraid of becoming a musical genius, I find most of the plebs ITTs are too scared to make something that isn't just easy to digest.
The problem I have with 99%
of "musicians" who sample
other people's work is LONGG.
The big thing is with these digital
sound sampling devices, back
in the day my sh!t was ANALOG
bro, do you even know what
analog means? Whatever,
anyway these digital systems
are, we are told, music mimics
par excellence, able to render
the whole orchestral panoply,
plus all that grunts, or squeaks.
The noun "sample" is, in our
comodified culture,pre-fixed by
the adjective free, FREE. as
in STEALING. So now you're
lying about being an artist and
if one is to consider predicating
this subject, perhaps some
thinking aloud on what is not
allowable auditory appropriation
is to be heard.
Some of you, current and potential
samplerists are confused, I KNOW
you're confused, and it's about
the extent to which you can
legally borrow from the ingredients
of other people's sonic
manifestations. Is a musical
property properly private, and
when and how does one trespass
upon it? Like myself, you may covet
something similar to a particular
chord played and recorded
singularly well by the strings of
the estimable Eastman Rochester
Orchestra on a long-deleted
Mercury Living Presence LP
of Charles Ives' Symphony #3
and you're thinking "Oh no,
welp here's another song down
the DRAIN"!

Me

Sorry, i meant specifically grain. I dont use bandcamp so I don't know how everything is set up. I understand that it's supposed to just be loud, and I get that, but you can still use different noises and shifts to amplify the sound still. Contrast is a great way to make the highs look better.
Based xyddi

Dogs don't drypost.
You think you're something intellectually pleasing? There's a lot you need to learn. Here's what you should really do:
-1st buy fl studio,
its all you need at 1st
-2nd make a kick/snare rythem
-invite some producers over to
hang out and get them to help geta
melody / bassline idea
-3rd get some studio time,
4th, get some experienced
producers to work with you during
your session(s)
5th let them do whatever they want
to the song to make it good.

Oh you think you're smarter musically then me? So - what's your favourite motet by Josquin Desprez? You favor the ossia cadenza of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 over the toccata-like one? You think Van Cliburn's rendition is among the greatest? How would you value the emotional impact of Marie's Cradle Song in Berg's Wozzeck? did Wagner do a good job to musically convey descent into the depths of the earth at the end of the 2nd scene of Rheingold? Whose rendition of Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit do you prefer? Gieseking's 1954 recording? Argerich 1975? Or Michelangeli 1959? What resonates more with you? The Tristan or the Electra Chord? You do know both of them by heart, do you? Would you agree with some critics (e.g. Roger Scruton) that historically informed performative approaches, such as Jordi Savall's, reduce composition to an artificial museal state, inaccessible by contemporary audiences? Speaking of Savall, which composer would you see more aptly conducted by him? Marin Marais or Marc-Antoine Charpentier? What kind of Bach interpretations do you prefer? The clarity and informedness of Zhu Xiao-Mei or the emotional ingenuity of Grigory Sokolov?

Years ago the music industry
was deregulated and lofi became a
thing. So I dunno what you think
you're doing by being a legit
response to the things real
musicians like me do to stop the
degeneration of music. And for real
bro, lofi? Come on......Bro, "lofi"
isn't a safeword to avoid criticism
on EQing and mastering. It's not
just to clean up sound quality, EQ is
to make space for all the elements
to fit together. If multiple elements
of a mix occupy similar frequency
ranges and attempt to fit into the
same space, the result will often
sound muddy, and basically just a
MESS, it doesn't sound "indie" or
whatever you shmucks say its like,
its just embarrassing.
