I don't think your music knows what type of electronic it is either XD
This is well produced, did you just use a simple limiter to "master" or did you use a three band compressor?
It's not overly warm, which is hard to prevent sometimes when making ambience.

this stuff is right up my alley. great textured drones that become more interesting the more you focus on them and I love the field recordings

hell yessssss. this rules. love it all hard to give feedback cause shit is unique but keep it up
This actually slaps like fuck.
You signed?
Any analog synths here?
Sounds too punchy for a DAW.
qt kot.
Nah, not signed.
Quite a few years ago, I had a label sell my tracks and not pay me though XD. Fuck schedule one recordings. Their music is shit anyways.
Nothing analog here. I just used patcher for some of my post processing so I could keep the sub intact when I add things like delay to a bass.
I also sidechained the bass by hand using volume automation and clipped the ever loving shit out of the master to avoid sidechaining random shit by accident.

where do you go for your sample selction? and how do you process it - it sounds so natural and clean!

You sound pretty good. I got a mate on some dnb label and I'm tempted to throw that track around. Whether he'll listen is another issue kek.

Why does your head look like a potato?
Hi,
Happy to check out your music, have a listen to mine.

Do you actually play live venues?
yeah
If you are lazy, this technique isn't for you. Just use a sidechaining compressor.
If you are prepared to sit there and actually draw out the volume ducking for each time your element is sidechained, then just create a volume automation clip on your mixer channel for the thing you want to duck, and draw an inverted kick shape in it. You can do this by looking at your kick sample and tracing the waveform with your automation, or by just inverting the volume automation on your kick if you are using a synth/postprocessed kick. Make sure you give it some attack by using a bendy line instead of just going straight down, otherwise you introduce a snapping/popping noise (might be ok if you are into it though). Then do the same for your snare if you think your bass is clashing with your snare, but this isn't always necessary. Then you just copy and paste your sidechaining automation clips anywhere you want them. For this track, I only sidechained the basses to the kick, and I only sidechained them to leading kicks because I wanted the break kicks to fade back in the mix.
Something I forgot to mention: for your attack, use a single curve, for your release, use a double curve, that way you avoid snapping sounds and generally fucking up your sample.
What's that like with that type of sound?
What set up do you have?
I've seen some good performances with some similar music and some bad ones. It's hard to get right.

I know how to do that actually. I thought you meant using some midi interface or something to control volume automation.
It seems easier on some DAWs than others. FL is a cunt with that shit.
I've played with a lot of different set ups, these days I tend to keep it simple.
Ableton - 2 Midi controllers - my soundcard - mic - guitar+ pedals - Virus Ti Desktop
I use 2 old BCR midi controllers to launch clips, modulate and stuff like that. Virus is my main lead synth instrument, use it a lot for basslines too.
i have been asking myself this for years yet the answer remains cruelly hidden
Once you eat the potato, you become the potato.
This is good stuff, I would love to hear this at a party
