perhaps but its my perspective on this is that coronavirus is killing a large number of elderly, and people with health conditions - cleansing of the gene pool, and leaving behind a much healthier population.
It is also an easy target to divert attention away from government activities.

50,000 dead in the US alone and the number should hit 100k in a few months. Thats a lot of elderly and unhealthy dead people. A massive resource and $, and social security savings for the rest of the population.
I agree coronavirus might be engineered in a lab but its only killing the old, and the sick for the most part (95%) which is a great thing in my book. Now a virus or bacterial agent like anthrax, one that kills indiscriminately would be something that is worth getting scared of.
Because most of the people who mention a lab also wear foil on their head and have to include "bio-weapon" somewhere in their statement.

The bigger question is what lab? There's evidence it came from a lab in Indiana and was planted in China to disrupt their economy. When it backfired, the gov't decided to let it run its course in the US hoping to hurt blue states, while decimating prison and migrant camp populations.
Notice how, despite high risk behavior, no one close to Trump has contracted it?
Hopefully they'll release the cure to the rest of us before the virus mutates and it no longer works.
Well recent studies have shown a sever effect on younger patients, who are more susceptible to cytokine storms, which in the case of the virus is causing blood clots, inflamed limbs (toes and fingers being hit worst) and on the more extreme side of the spectrum, strokes and heart attacks in otherwise healthy individuals. It is rather unlikely that the virus is engineered to "cleanse the gene pool" because the larger slice of the political, industrial, academic communities are all rather old.
