Why has the prospect of coronavirus potentially coming from a lab been conflated with being man made?

Why has the prospect of coronavirus potentially coming from a lab been conflated with being man made?

When ever it is brought up people say "don be stupid it isn't man made"

A virus doesn't have to be man made to come from a lab.

It this a straw man argument?

Chinese conspiracy to shut down the western economy. Of course it's possible.

I'm not even a trump supporter but I'm glad he's had the balls to call out the Chinese on their handling of all this.

It would be easy to cast out nets near a bat cave entrance take them in to a lab to study their viral load for effectiveness as an animal human to human vector.

US does it when studying rabies. Many documentaries show it.

You don't even need to go against Hanlon's razor to agree that this virus could have come from a lab.
