Seems like everything with liberals is always emotionally-based whereas conservatives rely more so on basic facts & common sense. most liberal viewpoints are admirable because they're rooted in compassion but, like that saying, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions..."
Conservatism just seems to make more sense for me. It's the much more "fair" side. Also, when it comes to social issues such as trans & homosexuality and that shit, conservatism is mostly, "be whatever you want to be/look however you want to look; just don't be a drain on society." Any stereotype attributed to Conservatives about being anti-gay/anti-whatever, I'm sure, is just a projection painted upon them by the mainstream media which looks to be about 90% liberal anyway.

If you're bringing age into it though, consider that these so-called "boomers" (when really, "boomer" is used too much and incorrectly. It's Gen X'ers) were Democrats when they were younger and with age, responsibility and wisdom, they realized it's more advantageous on several fronts, to be conservative. Conservativism favors order, cleanliness, and fairness. It's the genuine "equality for all" whereas Liberalism likes to only delegate equality to classes they feel are under represented. That fucks with societies in the wrong kind of way. Again, admirable but the wrong way to do things.

I think it's great the younger folks have an interest in politics but many are the radicals I speak of. Say "it's nice nature is getting a reprieve during the pandemic" and suddenly you're a racist, ecofascist that likes human death and "ignores capitalism" as though it works exclusive of humanity. Acknowledge the significance of biological sex and who fucking cares if you agree on ecological, economic, or social issues, or if you mostly support trans rights. You're now a transphobe, terf or whatever and you're getting cancelled.
Conservatives are too hung up on skydaddy (not that there aren't antivax lefties expecting to heal/protect themselves with potions, crystals or appeals to the stars and planets). While sensible they'll gladly deny science if you can convince them there's some hidden agenda behind it. To the extremes you get flat earthers, antivax, climate change denial (at least in so far as human-driven change) and so on. They're also slow to achieve anything except maybe expanding military budgets. What they don't realize, at least the blue collar ones, is whether a dem or republican gets elected it'll probably do fuckall to their tax bracket. If it is a dem who cares if their boss gets taxed harder? They're not gonna get the raise that they wouldn't have gotten anyway from a tax break that never trickles down?

I mean, I'm a white male and I'm under represented in the field of nursing and teaching. Doesn't bother me or many other white males one bit. My point is, trying to force or socially engineer things for the sake of equality when the inequality doesn't hurt anyone is bad and unfair to those who are genuinely good at something.

That's sort of beside the point but I thought I made clear there are those on the left who will deny science as well.
I recognize two biological sexes (granted the intersexed do occur). Given some historical/cultural examples I'll even recognize traditional gender roles, while dominant, may have some blurring between them. I don't recognize the myriad new genders that have arisen.
But again it's all far removed from my general point that somebody praised one day for their work with the poor or passion for the wetlands might get socially lynched the next day for suggesting the 6'9" MtF with male skeletal and muscular structure probably shouldn't be allowed to play on the girls basketball team.

Neither is society. No one designed society, it's just what we perceive it to be. Currently lean muscular people are considered superior, while not so long ago (or in fact, in some places today), being really fat is a symbol of wealth and rank.
It doesn't matter what stupid trans people are doing to their bodies, as long as they feel like doing it. Stupid trend? Probably. Who cares? It doesn't affect you any more than people that get stupid tattoos and weird piercings. There's nothing wrong with conforming to or rebelling against gender norms, nor is there anything wrong with body mods.
The real weird issue is what about minors? In every other case you could prohibit the action until adulthood, but if this "gender dysphoria" shit is a real thing, then waiting that long prevents the 'treatment."
