I spanked my son (3yo) once, one buttslap, when he was making me chase him around for a long time to get him dressed. He bugged out, I could tell it hurt him, not physically really, he can run into a wall at full steam and shake it off, but he was shook up in a way I had not anticipated. Poor little dude was just goofing around. Not sure I would do it again, he would have to pull something rowdy.
Serious question
Bump
If you aren't able to raise a child properly without hitting them then you're a moron, a bad parent, and you shouldn't have had kids. You've also raised them wrong if they act so terribly that you have to strike them.
what this painting tells me is people were as fat back then as they are today, look at those flabby ass arms
>Francis Bacon's father tried to cure his homosexuality by having him whipped by stable boys. Go figure.
lol, yeah he loved his S&M
Spanking is a punishment, not a discipline.
Only niggers hit their kids. I would love to go to a Walmart one time without seeing some nigger beating their babies.
This. Spankings are for wives, not children.
Father of two smallish sons here. I am with the near-consensus among pediatricians and early childhood educators that it doesn’t work and there’s no defensible reason for it.
I have swatted my boys on a handful of occasions when they have been on the verge of something really dangerous and have not responded to verbal warnings—running into traffic, for example, or not stopping and looking before crossing streets on bikes. But it’s never been well received or effective and I have always regretted it.
I, like pretty much everyone who actually knows what they are talking about, am on team „no spanking ever,“ but it’s hard to control myself on thankfully rare freaking-out occasions.
Eh, yes and no. When I was a kid I had the bright idea to run into oncoming traffic once. Mom had nothing to grab me by but my hair, but it was legitimately that or get run over.
