We could only end ourselves. Life would continue. Difference between me and you. You: life = humans Me: life = conscious beings.
We've only walked this Earth not even a fraction of its exitence. Even if we deface the surface, it will return to a habitable state inevitably with or without humans.

Someone failed biology. Humans are animals, just like every other living thing that isn't a plant.
Michael Martinez
Haha. I didn't bother arguing that. This person is likely baiting.

>"Both wild and captive elephants are known to create tools using their trunk and feet, mainly for swatting flies, scratching, plugging water-holes (so the water doesn't evaporate), and reaching food that is out of reach"
I know that, what I'm saying is that humans do shit that no other animal can literally even imagine. It is foolish to look at humans as "just" another animal because of that. We are are planetary civilization and we are on the brink of creating new forms of life and spreading beyond Earth, something that no other life form EVER in its history has ever done. We are an anomaly.
John Martin
No, life to me is anything that evolves and reproduces and moves in a deliberate way.
Besides, your central point here it blatantly false. We could easily end Earth permanently within the next 500 years if we wanted to, if not now. Look at Venus and the concept of runaway greenhouse effects. Look at Grey Goo scenarios.
Julian Brooks
Well. Ever thought that the water of meteorites and asteroids could harbour life? Planetary collision =millions of fragmented rocks with various organisms sent into deep space only to collide with other planets thus infecting it with "alien" life. Maybe that's how we started. I mean, that's how we did start..
Zachary Clark
Perhaps Earth was the originator of panspermia in the past? We'll know if we find Earthlike biochemistry on exoplanets one day.
