Is "exercise makes you happy a meme?" i thought it used to for me but it doesnt seem to these days

is "exercise makes you happy a meme?" i thought it used to for me but it doesnt seem to these days.
the last 3 days ive motivated myself to try but still feel empty/apathetic and extremely lethargic afterwards.
does it need to be longer term? is this really a good cure for depression and anxiety? right now it just feels like a struggle but maybe im doing it wrong

Dude, just keep at it. Results will come if you do it until failure.

No one said it makes you happy, but it can alleviate anxiety and stress and releases endorphins. I depend on it. But if you're not pouring sweat, gasping for air, and working out for at least 30 mins then you're not going to feel the benefits.

it's about mindset, committing to something. you won't see any changes in at least 3 months

3 days?
Do 3 weeks at least 4 times a week and you'll notice it. 3 days is nothing

exercise is the best antidepressant though it may not be as effective if you
>take medications
>masturbate frequently
>eat too much junk food
>smoke weed
exercise releases Anandamide, a cannabinoid, phenethylamine, a amphetamine analogue which works exactly the same way as amphetamine and beta endorphin, an opioid. these neurochemicals will 100% make you happy but may not be effective if you have been desensitised to them through poor lifestyle

imagine believing the "masturbation bad" meme

It's a long term thing. Also you should be using a portion of that time spent out of your basement to practice actually socializing. Otherwise you're still going to be isolated and bored except now you're gonna be isolated and bored of something you have already decided to hate before even really trying

you've just hit a plateau, push through it, pussy!

The neurotransmitter 2-arachidonoylglycerol rises after orgasm which can downregulate cannabinoid receptors making it difficult to exercise in addition to the detrimental effect pornography has on androgen receptors and the brains reward system.

It raises testosterone, corrects posture and gives you more energy. Not a meme.
Day 1: upper body
Day2: lower body
Day 3: total body
Day 4: recover
Repeat

yeah dude, not everyone jerks off to porn

not everyone masturbates either, the Christian way is to release via nocturnal emissions if one is not procreating.

You gotta do fun exercise my dude.

Learn a martial art. Learn fire twirling. Go kick a ball around with a friend.

Do something that feels like you've achieved something or at least had fun while exercising.

Exercising for the sake of exercising is boring, repetitive and lame.

I have tried heaps of different exercise schedules. Working out 2 days a week, working out 4 days a week, working out 6 days a week. Running, lifting, sports, you name it. None of it made me any happier, it just made me a more energetic depressive. Been at it for years. I mean exercising made my life better, got me laid, et cetera, but it never made my brain better.

>no one says it makes you happy....

I could go on but you are a faggot and thats all the work im putting in.

Diet is just as important. Cut out soda, fast food and dessert first. Eat 1g of protein for every pound you weigh. 150g if you 150lbs.

I always feel better after a good workout. Plus its nice being able to open any and all picke jars

A true Christian wouldn't be shit posting on Yas Forums either.

Honestly, why bother, I used to be into exercise and all but it got boring. And then when I thought about it, look at Betty White, who never exercised a day in her life, lives to be 100, why even bother.

ok

>had ice cream at lunch
>still had a great workout
WHERE'S UR GOD NOW

Sounds like ur just a lil soi bitch

naming neurotransmitters doesn't make your meme any more believable

to not be a little faggot, that's why. Its about more then just living long...
OP don't listen to this bitch

Cringe. You must be so insecure lol

Ice cream is a great way to bulk up. Just assuming OP is a fat ass.

Nah, exercise is a waste of time. I was never fat, Im still in great shape, I did it for fun, then it just became a chore. Like I said look at all the really old people none of them exercised in a ridiculous way.

Probably. Its ok to have a cheat day here n there. Work hard and treat yoself from time to time

15 min is the bare min for endorphins and dopamin to kick in. It has to be cardio and the more intense the better (don't start with sprint that goes without saying) its real and documented i worked with sport and mental health at and after university. I recommend starting with 15 min cardio min and doing some physical exercice for max 45 min total (cardio included). You can do less physical exercice or more cardio depend on your goals or effect on you. Do not do over 1hour. The effect of the cardio should help your sleppimg quality between 12-24hour so you can do 15min morning and why not a light 15 min a couple of hour before your sleep schedule

(sorry for my english)

You wont stay "in great shape"
Now post ur body so we can all laugh at u

The dude says he does not enjoy exercise anymore the same thing happened to me. Im saying if you don't enjoy it just stop.

Yea. Being healthy and active is so stupid

Bumping for interest. People keep insisting the solution to all of my problems is to get out there and exercise, but my entire life, exercise has brought nothing but extreme pain and taking an hour plus out of my day to do something I hate and continue to hate.

And people insist I should do something "fun" with it, but that's assuming I find sports fun when I'm out of shape and no good at them.

what medications? i was on antibiotics for acne (didnt want to but eventually gave in because it was getting severe and cystic i.e. scarring), ive come off them now tho

i was smoking weed quite regularly, like every second day or so or around 3x per week. thats stopped now because I've gone back home with family for the lockdown (UK)
i masturbate 1x a day usually, and my diet isnt too bad actually i have fruit and veg, not much chocolate crisps etc.
im 22 if that makes any difference

ok, maybe im not going hard enough then. bur i feel so lethargic even doing it its hard to really go for it properly. im 22 so I should be ok
however the last few months i started smoking weed at least 3x a week and sometimes cigs so i wonder if it affected me. i feel significantly less fit than i used to when exercising

So ur brain actually loves walking & running and gives u good drugs for doing it. But it hates getting started for some retarded reason. It won't "cure" Depression but it helps u get through the day.

Right, like I said I used to exercise all the time. Then my one really good friend, who was out of shape, decided to start getting into shape. He bought some weights, started jogging, lost some weight got into shape. Problem was he didn't like it and wasn't very good at it. We'd be jogging and he'd trip and fall or he'd get the bar stuck on his chest just dumb stuff. Then he finally gave up. Exercise isn't for everybody.

i would love to socialise. but the UK is in lockdown so i cant see anyone. really its making my mood so much worse and contributing to overall lethargy and apathy i think. whats the point, doesnt feel like much to live for rn. fuck this gay lockdown, i feel like at 22 im supposed to be in my prime but im forced to stay at home with family and not see any friends because gubernment say so

Start with less than an hour ?

Start with something you can do from home (running spinning, etc)

Start with something related to you (sport , listen to a podcast/show that you like will running spinning)

Start with a time shedule close to your working schedule (not at the moment cause of covid, but you do not want to be "down" before your exercice. Your body will "give you energy" and develop in time if you workout sooner than later in your day)
