Curious what your actual income tax is at the end of the day. Considering I make 20-30% more on my paychecks, I've never had a problem paying for my health insurance, and I've paid off my college loans. I really don't get the European argument from the perspective of a responsible US citizen.

Different user here than the one you are replying too. But my health care is a little over $300 a month and has a maximun out of pocket of $1000. After that every thing is free. A $30,000 dollar surgery? Free? Heart transplany? Free. Helicopter transport to emergency rooom? Free.

Also all my medication is free besides a select few rare ones that would require a small copay.

I dont think he was saying that. As for me I was born into a lower middle class family, did well in school and worked hard. Now I'm an mechanical engineer, I make a great living. My employer pays for my healthcare and also reimbursed me for my tuition cost. Therefore I'm 30 no student loan debt, own my house, and should retire in my early 50's. It's not difficult to get ahead in the US if you're willing to put forth some effort
