I dont think he was saying that. As for me I was born into a lower middle class family, did well in school and worked hard. Now I'm an mechanical engineer, I make a great living. My employer pays for my healthcare and also reimbursed me for my tuition cost. Therefore I'm 30 no student loan debt, own my house, and should retire in my early 50's. It's not difficult to get ahead in the US if you're willing to put forth some effort

except the big big majority of people don't attend the top 10, or top 20, or top 50 colleges. your average person will attend local college, or local community college and major in whatever and still have to pay 30k for a worthless degree
