All depends on how much work was done. If the server brought two dishes cuz there's only two of us then I'm not tipping 20%. If the server is serving a party of 12 and bringing out a bunch of dishes then yeah I'm gonna tip more since the server did more work. Just cuz a server doesn't get paid a lot doesn't make it the customers responsibility to pay them. There's better jobs that can be done without a college degree.

And if people keep tipping, then the chance of such incentive appearing will most probably never increase. Waiters' low salaries are no concern to me, I have my own problems and I don't spend my time figuring out how to fix that situation. its up to you to make up the difference in wage disparity between what the employer pays the server vs what they deserve. employers have to pay ALOT of taxes and buy expensive product so that they can keep their business thriving. the customer is there to make sure the employer is able to afford his employees. same idea with bank fees, as the customer, you should understand that youre there to pay for the gaps in profit margin that the company needs from you to stay open.
