Again yes, because the majority of people are stupid. I will absolutely agree with you that more people should be educated. Maybe one day we will reach a point where this will be a reality and the electoral college will no longer be needed. But not today. It is not however, a consequence of capitalism. How educated are people in North Korea? How educated and well off are people in China? America has many flaws but our poor and stupid are some of the best treated poor and stupid in the world.

All it means is that things are going very well for the rich. In other words, a high GDP is a measurement on how good the rich are fucking ordinary people like you and I.
