When we look at Reaganomics and the trickle-down theory, it all hinges on this idea that eventually, the working class will see benefit after their work. Fuck, we had to explicitly include provisos in the stimulus bill that expressly forbids the use of this money for any of those purposes. When Wal-Mart is directing desperate career employees to apply for welfare instead of giving them a raise, that directly contributes to the "moocher" problem everyone hates. What happened? The Waltons are not hurting for money; they're the richest fucking family in America, so why am I, the taxpayer, having to fill the gaps in their employee's paycheck? I thought supply side economics was going to fix this problem?

It's always the same, because while you are appreciating the differences of the two, the people who consistently vote for "capitalism" only see them all as one thing: commies. There aren't many tools used to keep the base in line, because the Red Scare is often all that is needed.

That really depends on the type. Anarchism of any stripe seems to have a staying power of a few months at best. Marxism-Leninism seems to last decades and may in fact be stable. Fascism seems to be fairly stable as well when it isn't attacked, but it tends to decompose into monarchism (Spain) or social democracy (Argentina).

Honestly I'll take anything over neoliberalism though. Even anarchism acts as a purgative.

The Electoral College exists because the Founding Fathers didn't want working people to have too much of a say in choosing their leaders. A democracy should be 1 Voice = 1 Vote. Instead, America has designed a system where literal land area has a bigger say in choosing a President than a human being. That's actually scary.
