I know what you're saying is right. However, I would dispute the simple attribute that you give to racist people. I also dislike IQ. But it doesn't take much to believe in an idea and to ignore counter-arguments. Especially if you're raised in it and it becomes intwined in your values.

That, and the fundamental attributon error is likely one root of it really. We all like to believe that, given the same situation, that WE would make different/better choices. Likelihood is that we would not.
I grew up around so many poor, trailer living whites that literally acted in the very same ways as the blacks they liked to hate. Only difference was skin color, and I could charge the whites more for the same amount of pot, lol.
