By the end of the year? Certainly possible. Depends on how people react and change behavior.
That's the thing about exponential growth, it gets going very very fast once it gets going. The time constant will slow under behavior change, but perhaps not fast enough

again.....the fucking current mortality rate is:
8,488 deaths / 311,544 confirmed cases = 2.72% mortality rate (USA)
64,753 deaths / 1,202,236 confirmed cases = 5.386% (worldwide)
we didnt really do anything to stop H1N1 in the united states. we closed schools only when there were confirmed cases but that was about it.
12,469 deaths / 60,800,000 confirmed cases = 0.02% mortality rate
if COVID-19 infected the same amount of people as H1N1 did then you're looking at 2+ million deaths.

That's severe cases, not every goddamned case which is what people are talking about. They think if they get it, 20 yo 30% of their lungs will be destroyed. That's not the the case but you're part of the exaggerated rumors I've referred to. Grow up. Right now, we need facts, not your trash and false analysis.

and i should say the 2.72% (USA) and 5.386% (worldwide) mortality rate is only that low because of the precautions that we are taking.

severe = rare
like 1% or less.
law of averages...some people will survive but have lung damage.
