You're straining to blame this all on Trump, because have TDR. Truth is, the entire West fucked up the response. The only countries that managed to contain the virus are China (eventually), South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Italy is a disaster. France is a disaster. Spain is a disaster. The UK is disaster. Iran is a clusterfuck on top of a disaster, and India and Africa aren't far behind.
The Western world failed because of reasons beyond Trump: Because in order to contain the virus, it would have required authoritarian measures from the start. No Western population had the stomach for that, it took a while before they realized it was needed.
Trump's response is mixed. He (correctly) blocked flights from China, and got called a racist by the Democrats for his troubles. The CDC fucked up the tests, badly, and lied to the American public, which is more about the bureaucracy than Trump. On the other hand, he kept downplaying the virus in his press conferences, which was definitely a fuck up.

I've had enough reserve food to last months for years now. Parents grew up poor and so always hoarded food because of the savings from bulk buying. It rubbed off on me though nowhere near as bad. some of the old food I'm trying to cycle out is still stuff they had. So many cans of green beans. Mom really liked her green beans...
