What’s the mode of death with this disease anyway? Is it lung failure, cardiac arrest, or does it vary? Also, if I catch this and develope a severe case, I’m planning on an heroing. Anyone else in that boat too? If so, when do you plan on “drawing the line”?

Usually develops into pneumonia and kills you.
I’ve never had that symptom before, but it sounds pretty horrible. How does the pneumonia kill you exactly? Does it keep you from breathing, or does your heart give out from overcompensating due to lack of oxygen supply in the blood cells? Just trying to get a general idea of how painful a severe case of this virus is.
Fluid builds up in your lungs, interfering with gas exchange. There are other issues such as blocking air from moving into parts of your lungs, interfering with expansion and contraction, and inflammation.
cytokine storm - google this. It will explain what is the killer
Thanks for the info, sounds even more horrible now to be honest.
Will do, thanks user.
>cytokine storm
no most people die of pneumonia or ARDS.
cytokine storm is a particular overreaction by the immune system.
it's like running on a treadmill while breathing through a straw continuously for days.
if you're strong enough to hold on, you'll survive. if you feel too tired and choose to quit, you die.
Doesn't matter how strong you are. When it gets bad, you simply don't have enough oxygen. This will cause multiple organ failure.
I heard it also causes the brain to forget to breathe... there was a pretty wise guy named Shane a couple days ago who was talking about it - that's why PQQ works, right? Because it protects the brain and nervous system so the body can keep breathing without direct focus?
So basically, if you have asthma or weak lungs, then stay the fuck indoors? Cause that's how I'm reading this.
It drains your vehicle's blinker fluid
If you hero because you get it that goes against what Trump said, he said people will hero if the economy tanks. You're a rebel.
It doesn't do shit bro.
it's basically a bad respiratory infection. if you're healthy you pretty much ok but if you have any underlying medical conditions you'll die of complications. just a flu will kill an old or immune compromised person.
Pretty much, yeah.
This will make you realise that the rde never ends
>worldometers.info
For nightmare mode, take a look at it again in about 19 hours time because thats about when nearly all countries submit their number of dead before it resets to a new day.
The ride never ends
>worldometers.info
For nightmare mode, ntake a look at it in about 19 hours as its around then that most countries submit their dead/infected figures before it resets to a new day
This is a pretty cool webpage, user. Thanks.
ncovid19 is more deadly than the Spanish flu. It kills at 4.1% vs the Spanish flu at 2.2% and the Spanish flu killed hundreds of millions of people. The number of people speculated to be infected is around 40-60% world wide. So a speculated 360 million people world wide will die. China built mass graves from space and have botched their numbers. The speculated number of deaths adjusted for population density is 7-9 million. Also Ncoid19 can reinfected causing a far more deadly mutation of the virus as reported in China. Don't listen to these dumbfags on Yas Forums
Also it's not the flu, the flu is made up of dozens of viruses all working together to kill .1% of the world every year.
You can see from space through satalite imagery*
If i get it severely i’m just going to spread it as much as i can to all the elderly and wealthy
like others have said it has pneumonia like symptoms, fluid in the lungs making it harder to breath
also researchers have found it effects the nervous system side of breathing so your diaphragm stops working and its impossible to breath without a ventilator.
how old are you?
if you are 80+ then your mortality chance is over 20%
if you are in your 20s or 30s than your mortality is closer to 0.1% and you are likely to get the virus and never realize it.
definitely nothing to kill yourself over if you are young. and even if you are old you'll likely survive.
This is actually not true, these statistics are from the common cold.
ill admit i rounded pretty heavy on the 80+
but the younger person stat is about what i said.
23 years old right now. I’m worried about my mom though. She’s close to age 60 and smokes.
she's definitely higher risk because of age and smoking
but still will most likely survive if infected.
If this virus continues to spread, I feel like infection is almost inevitable. My town has slowed down a lot since everyone is shutting themselves in, but I’m still concerned about it since researchers are struggling to develope a treatment/cure. Some are saying this could go on for 18 months. If the whole “re-infection” thing is true, and researchers can’t develope a treatment, then what can we possibly do? We can’t stay indoors forever. Neither can anyone else.
experts are completely unsure about the reinfection aspect of this virus.
keep in mind 30% of common colds are mild strains of a coronavirus.
if reinfection is true its because the virus mutated into a new form, so you'll still have immunity temporarily, and most likely covid-19 will become a seasonal endemic like the flu.
we won't need to stay indoors forever, this is just a way of slowing down the initial spread to make sure health systems aren't overwhelmed and collapse.
just fyi, I'm a med tech and I'm about to start testing samples for covid-19, while I'm not an expert I do have first hand knowledge of how hospitals are handling this new virus.
Spanish flu killed about 50 million world wide and this new sars virus is essentially doing the same thing that flu did.
The "mode of death" is essentially spetic shock due to immune system attacking the virus so well that it kills the host* or due to lack of oxygen in the blood
furthermore there's two strains, S and L
L being the more prevalent strain and thus is theorized to be the more aggressive strain. There's evidence to support that when you get one strain you're immune to the other.
*some people's immune systems over react to the virus, causing full blown organ failure
a week or two ago french docs had 100% success rate in ridding 100% of patients of the virus in an average of 5 days using the chloroquine + zithromiacin treatment that by now is being reported more and more, even fox news is talking about it as trials are underway in hospitals around the world
there are NO confirmed cases of anyone being reinfected after being confirmed recovered and any stories you hear/read about this are purely hearsay. These and other stories such as people dying after being declared virus free after testing are cases of false readings, whereas patients were found not to actually have been fully recovered.
exactly and most likely it will be treated with a combination of anti-virals, immunosuppressant and antibiotics as if you got bronchitis or pneumonia
expect annual flu + sars-cov vaccine from now on
also just a reminder that Yas Forums and Yas Forums are hands down the worst possible place to read about sars-cov 19 if you're trying avoid fear and panic driven anecdotal misinfo. just about everything you read about it here is doom and gloom from people who are good at larping and being convincing. don't buy the bullshit
>expect annual flu + sars-cov vaccine from now on
i still think its too early to say, there may be a chance of getting a vaccine, we really dont know how easily this virus mutates to prevent effective vaccines.
but since its a coronavirus, I wouldn't be surprised if its easy to mutate past vaccines.
research on this is really just started to come out and it'll be a while before we have a clear picture.
best thing we can do now if avoid unnecessary contact with people, and take the advice of medical experts.
Influenza is also a form of common cold, look at the Spanish flu.
That’s all good information, thanks user. I hope if nothing else this virus is seasonal, but experts aren’t able to answer that yet either. Some are talking like we’re gonna have to wait and find out. And good luck to you on your tests. Hope you find valid samples so maybe we can find out something new.
Good fuck em
seeing as it's highly possible the whole reason this got out is more than just a zoonotic transmission from bats, and rather the result of years of testing sars vaccines on animals that were then sold to wet markets; my assumption is that there's a good deal already known about a sars-cov vaccine. and, that's why the reports are being let out about the rapid processing of one.
it's already been identified as having mutated into the more lethal L strain and, given it's transmission around the world and the absence of another mutation so far, it's doubtful it'll mutate any further into something worse or something that gets around vaccines, much like the flu does seasonally.
the first sars cov, along with the spanish flu, literally vanished with no new reported cases since. that's promising information
well hospitals usually called influenza strains the flu, and not the common cold.
common cold are usually rhinoviruses or coronaviruses, but... some influenza strains are similar enough with symptoms to a cold that its diagnoses as a cold.
the common cold is really a catch all for a virus with certain symptoms, sometimes the flu can present as similar to a cold.
Doubt it.
I'd would have to be something like meningitis to stop your breathing like that. Smells of bullshit.
Pneumonia is bad enough. Pneumonia can fuck your shit up even if your healthy and in your prime and if your not pneumonia is fucking brutal. Do not forget how important a constant supply of enough oxygen is for your continued survival.
Google "nail clubbing" to see an example of what happens of you have chronic shortages of oxygen in your body. Now imagine what sort of shit is happening internally to f that's what's happening to your fingers.
i dont know about anyone testing sars vaccines on animals.
but i wouldn't compare this to the SARS outbreak of 2002. this is much harder to contain, and has already spread much faster than that outbreak.
again there is a lot of research and trials to be down on if an effective vaccine can be made.
there is some evidence that novid-19 has a neurological aspect to respiratory failure.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
You drown in your own bloody bile from pneumonia.
Wait....
This shit doesn't just stay in your respiratory system and gut like the rest of the corona and flu family?!
>Concern
>Even though I'm a hikki neet
You cum all your body fluids until you drain out.
I wouldn't compared the flu and coronavirus families at all.
But there is good evidence this strain of corona affects part of the nervous system.
which is probably why some healthy people with good lung have complete respiratory failure.
genome is stable my friend. relax.
and we've had infections of other strains of corona before and there is immunity for a year or so. coronavirs account for about 30% of colds.
Coronaviruses and influenza viruses are both almost exclusively respiratory. That's the comparison.
Sometimes flu makes it into your brain where it's been known to cause meningitis.
If corona is making it's way into your brain too then yeah. Scary shit.
japantimes.co.jp
Scary shit indeed that covid 19 had in fact caused meningitis already.
Quite possible it's more deadly than is currently known by causes deaths passes off as from other causes.
Hey your Doc here, stop fucking lying you piece of shit, people are actually dying from this
influenza is not the common cold whered you get that?
influenza is caused by the influenza virus. it actually damages tissues. it goes to the lower respiratory tract.
common cold is just really an infection of the upper respiratory tract, causing a collection of symptoms with no tissue damage caused by the virus. It is caused by
"Coronaviruses are a group of viruses known for causing the common cold. They have a halo or crown-like (corona) appearance when viewed under an electron microscope.
The common cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. The most commonly implicated virus is a rhinovirus (30–80%), a type of picornavirus with 99 known serotypes.[29][30] Other commonly implicated viruses include human coronavirus (≈ 15%),[31][32] influenza viruses (10–15%),[33] adenoviruses (5%),[33] human respiratory syncytial virus (orthopneumovirus), enteroviruses other than rhinoviruses, human parainfluenza viruses, and human metapneumovirus.[34] Frequently more than one virus is present.[35] In total, more than 200 viral types are associated with colds.[3]"
in early days flu can look like cold, but that's it.
Imagine killing youself over possibly surviving and helping others. Dont be such a fuckibg pussy faggot. Truth is most of us will get this, almost all of us will lose someone to it or know someone who does, but don't be a little bitch. Avoid it, if you get it, work with it, recover, and then use your new found health to volunteer like any good person is and will be. Dont be such a selfish cunt "boohoo im gunna kill myself because theres a oandemic and my lifetime wasnt perfect" trust me theres at least 100 other problems this world has that are more likely to kill you, so grow up.
Don't wanna say it's mother nature's way of culling the weak or anything, but
Wut
I have asthma so I'm probably guaranteed to die if I get it, but I still have zero intention of giving up. Hell no, go out guns blazing dude don't succumb
I have asthma and have a history of vaping and smoking weed. How fucked am I Yas Forumsros? I’m 21
Depends on how severe the fluid build up is I guess.
See you in hell, dumbass
just because they affect similar organs don't mean they are similar on a molecular level.
they are different families of viruses for a reason.
youre probably fine
if i was you id take a break from inhaling anything but air for a while to minimize risk
pneumonia
