Mozart < Beethoven
No doubt about it.
Mozart < Beethoven
No doubt about it.
I have this sonata on repeat
Yeah, hard to beat the guy who made his most complex masterpieces AFTER he lost his hearing.
Mozart is still dope though. Chopin > All for clarification.
I like Debussy myself.
I never listened to Chopin for real. I’m gonna binge him for a few hours lol
bach
Tchaik Gang
Was gonna be playing Tchaik 4 for my next orchestra concert, but beer flu happened and my university cancelled all ensembles for the rest of the semester
Beethoven for the symphonies.
Mozart for the operas.
A lot of dead russians for everything else.
Correct.
Truer words naught been spoke. Nice.
Any of you in any ensembles that have/had Beethoven repertoire lined up for his 250th? We just finished his Mass, Egmont overture, The Piano/Choral Fantasy. Great music.
Scott Joplin??
Bach > All
Been absolutely baring his organ concerti and sonatas lately. Great stuff. If you haven't dived into CPE yet, you're missing out.
I just found Mozart to be... childish? Does that make sense?
Chopin for his compositions. Cziffra for his technical ability on the keys. Absolutely mind boggling how good he was.
With an entire composition called "Lick My Ass", I'm inclined to agree; he has a childish sense of humor
Turbo virgin
Ya you're not alone. Lots of his music just sounds humorous.
It's clearly a competition for #2, no one will ever touch jsb
Imagine not have Sibelius on loop for your entire life
Scott joplin
Liszt is more technical
He had Aspergers
Watch his movie "Amadeus" he was a madman. I also have Aspergers and do similar shit. But instead of being interested in music i was obsessed with stocks.
I guess this is an argument over perspective, as I fully agree Liszt created some amazing music, and you may be right that he was technically better. I just love Cziffra’s ability to improvise. Alright you win but I like Cziffra more
At least cziffra didn't use Liszt's apartment as a bachelor pad to bring back his Mistresses
That story was left out of my music theory classes. Go on...

Was going to play Piano Sonata Op. 57 in June. Cancelled due to Coronavirus
Chopin is GOAT
Debussy is brilliance.
Beethoven stood on the shoulders of Mozart, and he knew it. And then both stood on the mountain that was JS Bach. Mozart and Beethoven defined their era, and wrote music that will be remembered forever. Bach basically reinvented music.
They're both Titans.
But LvB gets the nod on those Late String Quartets.
Music outside of time or place.
stop saying Scott Joplin
Jott Scoplin.
If you want to hear the spiritual successor to Beethoven's symphonic approach then listen to Sibelius.
Both are great, but Mahler beats them both for me.
I'll allow it.
Too many notes
If he had just cut a few out, it would be perfect.
Is this you?
which ones?
The Beatles suck ass
grazie senore
You're comparing watermelons to bananas, user
From a fun to play perspective only (not debating innovation) Bach
Ringo's schlong was said to be as big as a plantain
Is that what your mom said?
He was playful and an unparalleled musical genius.
You guys are acting like you met him.
You guys are hilarious
They’re trading quotes from the movie “Amadeus”
I read a biography. Letters he wrote to his sister are around also.
My banana between your mom's watermelons
Yeah I agree with you op,
Bach's era was before both of them though and was the greatest influence on both of them I believe.
Shout out to Chopin though for being so great
In my personal opinion about what I like I'd say
1: Beethoven
2: Chopin
3: Bach
4: Mozart
5: Rachmaninoff
Chopan > any of these fags
Agreed
>Shopan
All these nerdy perverts! !
Shit! Yes, how has Rach not been mentioned yet?
Your mom said Pete's Best
Yuuuuup
