Locked horde mode arenas, which is repetitive and unimaginative as fuck.
Colorful neon ammo drops strongly resembling what would be a common sight in a looter game, despite that being completely unnecessary.
And yeah, that's how you get resources now. Carefully hand-placing them on levels is too hard.
Press x to awesome, being always made fun of just some years ago, is a core mechanic here, meaning the game is designed around it, "just don't use it lol" is not valid. It interrupts the flow of actual FPS gameplay just to show you something cool every few seconds.
Speaking of interruptions, over an hour of cutscenes full of retarded "lore" it never needed.
Speaking of cutscenes, Doomguy got turned into a fucking joke. Completely out-of-place platforming. No, movement options aren't bad. Dash, double jump? Great, keep it. Why the fuck do you need dedicated sections where you swing on bars and climb walls though? What even is that for?
Cooldowns. Fucking cooldowns in a supposedly straightforward singleplayer FPS.
And upgrades. If the flow of the game isn't already in pieces after all the platforming, cutscenes, and glory kills, feel free to sit down and decide what you want to spend your points on. Linear progression isn't cool nowadays.
The aesthetic is trash and all over the place.
UI and color palette is a mess.

Doom 3 was trying to be F.E.A.R with story as a top focus with voice recordings, jumpscares, redesigns of the demons that make the 2016 cyberdemon look good, and no fucking doomguy.

Doom Eternal and Doom 2016 resonates the feel of doom more than Doom 3 or that cancelled Doom 4 project (Call of Doom) EVER will.

doom eternal is not a good doom game, but doom 3 is not a doom game at all.

Considering Eternal was easily cracked, the contrarian crowd on Yas Forums have no excuse to try it out unless they have shit PCs(in which case, it would prove that most don't even play games)

Most of the whiners end contradict themselves with their complaints down the line("it has cut scenes" yet they'll say doom 3 was better, or "it's to easy" yet they'll complain that it has cooldowns and less ammo that are there to stop chessing etc)
Just talk to them about the game, and their arguments will fall apart slowly, proving they didn't play jackshit.

Doom 3 was a slow halflife copy, made mostly for tech demo. Carmack never gave a shit about gameplay, he just made shiny graphics, same with Rage 1.
Eternal improved most of the issues with 2016. The only things missing are modding and deathmatch multiplayer like the OG doom , not the outsourced shit 2016 had.
