If you're old you should worry. If you're immunocompromised you should worry. If you're young and healthy, you should worry about giving it your grandmother and killing her.

Its not a fucking pandemic. Yes, people will get sick. No, no where near as many of those people will die as if it were the flu.

HOWEVER. This virus is fuckin fearsome because it went from animal to human. Anytime something mutates like that is cause for concern. In our lifetime we will see a disease wipe out some population but I dont think this is the one.

And it's worse than the flu because we don't have a vaccine to stop the transmission, and we won't for another 1-2 years. It will infect more people than the flu and kill more within the year.

Yeah I got a family so can't run to the woods. I work from home though so that's good. I can regulate who comes to the house. Wife works at a school and both kids are in school. If it comes I can hunker down in the suburbs. Lots of space btw the houses but that's it.

Countries and cities are closing schools and conferences. Companies are closing branches and telling their employees to work from home for a bit. If anyone thinks this is anything like the flu, they're fucking moronic. No body ever does this shit for the flu (hint: because we have a vaccine for the flu that most have).

I'm with you but the reality is with a two week incubation you're going to be hunkered down for months. Isolating for two weeks is to see if you have it so you don't infect other people. Staying at home just isn't possible because the longest you isolate the more cases are out there to infect you.
