Saturday night /aus/ thread

Just chilling gents, got my flu shot today and gamed a bit. Might do a bit of study tomorrow then back to work Monday, fortunately working from home.

I live in melbourne. Originally from bendigo. It is not a regional issue. The most sensitive people I've met have been working class. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. It is part of the australian psyche. The men here drip with insecurity. Masculinity here is feminine and facetious. Only caring about vanity and "having a good time". Australia has no analogue to Jocko Willinck.

We like to say that our public healthcare is good, but it's not. And anyone can afford private insurance, if you aren't retarded. Basically no guns, thanks to howard. If you don't think the culture here is hypersensitive and risk-averse, look at the handling of covid. The americans will be the first to break quarantine. Because it is in the american nature to rebel. Despite all their faults, and they have many, they would rather a life of risk than safety. Australia lacks america's rebellious spirit and europe's common sense. Australia is a land of fear.

There's a reason we've never produced analogues to steinbeck, mailer, malick, kaczynski, manson, chomsky, etc. Australians are mediocre. And the ones who aren't jump ship to america or the uk. Just like I will.
