Whenever I was being mean to someone on here, it was usually due to me liking them and attacking them just for attention because I afraid of expressing it in a healthy way.

In short, if everyone was the same then it would be pretty boring. In life, you encounter different personalities, and when you're in an environment where you have clashing personalities, shit can go down. Encountering people who aren't the nicest will give you the knowledge and experience in dealing with those sort of people. I wouldn't say that being mean or nice is just a decision either. Everyone has a bad day, and you might take a toll on everyone else without even realising it. There is nothing dull about someone being nice, but there is something dull with EVERYONE ON THE PLANET being nice. In reference to your "there are entertaining things besides being mean and they are a lot more entertaining", not everyone is being mean just to be entertained. Sometimes that's just how people feel. A lot of people have bad experiences, and again, that takes a toll on other people.

Hey, I never said it was a good strategy lol. It's just a product of a low self-esteem where you think that you aren't good enough for them if you were to be your true self, but yet you still want to interact with them. Baiting them for a response is interaction, albeit negative. It's just that, in that desperate state, you'll accept anything you can get because you want it badly enough. Even if it is fleeting and ultimately pushes them away...

But yes, it's a flawed strategy and there are better ways. I've just had minor successes this way and behavior which his rewarded tends to be repeated. Thus far, none of my attempts doing it the right way have garnered any success....
