I'm thinking to go outside and kill another bird/squirrel for the positive emotions it gives me. I'm really feeling down and have been for the past week or so.

Sounds like you're suffering because the internal pedestal you've put yourself on (real or imaginary) over the rest of the populace isn't congruent with the external reality of your situation.
It seems counterintuitive, but maybe try taking part in an activity that completely humbles you before others (jiu jitsu, rock climbing, etc.) in order to help normalize that delta between internal and external perceptions.
Also, your enjoyment of killing animals is probably feeding this superiority complex of yours as you're getting off on the power you impose on the lives of other organisms. Stop that shit. If you're gonna stand on a high ground, make it a moral one.
