Any anons joined the army or national guard? What's it like? Did it take much to get prepared to serve? Why did you choose to do so? Are the notmalfaggotry levels similar to regular life?
I'm curious as I've desired for a long time to be a part of something larger than myself and only just realized this avenue is open to me.
And what's the deal with w*men in the military?

Attached: natl guard.jpg (1280x720, 221.67K)

The guys you meet will get you laid trust me, I was a virgin when I came in and I still think I would be had I not joined

really considering joining my life is going downhill.

Not op but how much did you have to exercise to get in shape before leaving for boot camp.

I think it would help you make you a better man at least

i joined the marine corps and i loved it. i was 18 years old in high school and decided to join. got in great shape and finished 3rd in my class in bootcamp. went to BRC. got selected for MSOS. got assigned to force. met my best friends. got out and moved to miami with my best friend. about to join swat but quarantine fucked everything up but other than that

Not much, did some training with my recruiters to get a feel of things but my advice to to get your form down for push ups you need to pass your PT test to graduate

I second this. First time we were in the Philippines i let it slip that i was a virgin. i was no longer a virgin 12 hours later

Now i know not to give away that am a virgin.

Don't do it, it's awful.
You'll get to basic and be thinking to yourself "If only I had listened to that one user on r9k".
Do anything else, get some factory job sweeping wood chips or work on a farm picking corn or something. Go to trade school or whatever and get some kind of certification and just do anything other than joining the military.
I left basic training a few weeks in and everything's been great ever since, I'm at university, I work full time, everything's going fine and you'll be fine too if you just don't enlist for god's sake.

What was so terrible about it?

i had alot of fun. if you do well in the military its awesome. i met my best friends and got paid to travel, kick doors and shoot people. also got to grow a beard and long hair and make fun of the cucks without relaxed grooming standards

Beards aren't allowed in the marines.

civie/pog confirmed. when we were deployed everybody in recon was required to grow out their facial hair

>relaxed grooming standards
poor reading comp

>And what's the deal with w*men in the military?
Dude, faggots are even worse. I don't mind women in the military, but faggots unironically need to get tossed overboard or used as target practice

Really why? I've never joined, but I've been told by a marine recruiter that the most facial hair you can have is a small stash.

Hahaha and here I thought that grooming standards are never relaxed.

Joined the Navy about four months ago. Boot camp wasn't hard overall. If you get past the first week, you'll be fine. Physical fitness standards aren't bad either. Most people who struggle only have trouble with the run. Just make sure you can run 1.5 miles in at least 14ish minutes before you go to boot camp. Otherwise, you'll struggle.

As for normalfaggotry, I can't really speak for the military in general. Certainly, there were plenty of normies in boot. But I signed for nuclear field, which is what Navy recruiters will try to push you into if you score high on the ASVAB. Almost everyone here at my 'A' school is at least a little bit autistic. My roommate actually browses Yas Forums, and I've met a couple of guys who post on /lit/ and Yas Forums respectively. There are a lot of D&D groups, LAN parties, etc. if you actually like hanging out with people. I mostly just talk to people when I'm at the smoke pit and keep to myself otherwise.

There is a small population of normies, but we get along fine. Our job at least gives us something in common to talk about.

not OP but SOF gets relaxed standards when mission dictates. mostly to blend in, so that people do not think they are military. recon is an SOF, so thats why he was allowed to grow out his beard

I was a Navyfag, as far as pt shit goes running is by far the single most important thing to work on before it all. You will be doing sit ups and push ups all throughout training and it is pretty easy to get better at them, especially in such an environment, but running with a time limit fucks a lot of people over. Also if you have asthma or heart problems or something then you are literally gambling your life if you lie your way through, people have hurt and killed themselves to this day in every branch just from all the PT. Also every branch has their own quirks in boot/basic, for the Navy there is the whole naval terminology and ship thing as well as an emphasis on things like firefighting and damage control, for the Marines there is a fuckton of marching, etc. That being said the military is far from being a one stop shop and is exactly what you make of it, for some it gave them a new lease on life and unfucked themselves, for others it was the single worst thing they have done and brought out nothing but bad habits from it. If you do get in just keep in mind the outside world still exists and operates on a VERY different level, a lot of shit you do in the military just does not fly in civilian land and vice versa. A lot of people get fucked from that and not having Uncle Sams giant safety net under them at all times. Either way boot/basic/whatever means jackshit, and regardless never ever volunteer for anything unless you like unnecessary headaches. Also only sign on for something you will be actually interested, not what sounds the coolest or whatever the recruiter is trying to push you towards.
I will give you some credit for larping as Recon instead of Ranger or some shit.

>1.5 miles in at least 14ish minutes before you go to boot cam
lol the navy is so pathetic. i ran 3 miles in 18 minutes when i was in

quiet navy fag

Be 6'0 7". A virus calls the world's most advanced military after an addition of the space forces and you are to be drafted. Based. You fuck several aliens on the way to Admiral rank before you are the first assassination of a political figure in almost a century. You survive but on a life support machine where you live your life over and over again, sometimes dreaming of the work you've done and plan to do, but it turns out that you didn't do much.

I joined the air force as a 19 year old NEET virgin. I finally got laid when I was 21. It took no prep to get ready to join besides being mentally prepared to have a different life and be away from family. For fitness like everyone else is saying if you suck at running you might wanna work on that. At the end of basic you'll have to run 1.5 miles in under 13:36. When you're done with all your training it's almost like a normal job minus deployments. You can still be a shut in virgin though so if you don't want that you'll meet plenty of people to be friends with. As far as girls go depending on your job there will be a shit ton or barely any. In my job they get treated like guys mostly but it might be different in other jobs. I've been in 10 years and love it so far. I recommend not going in a maintenance job or being a cop

lol Where the fuck am I going to be running on a submarine? Most rates don't require you to be especially fit, and the ones that do (SO, AW, etc) have their own standards. Even so, most of us perform way above the standard. My current 1.5 mi has been 9:30-10:00 since I got out of boot.

Have you ever been yelled at?
Think about that but multiply it by three months.

Dont make me break out the suppository, you glorified rock painter.

Dude, would have to have a vagina and a fat pair of tits for a 14min 1.5 mile to be accepted

Thankfully, I have those so my time was accepted

>left basic after a couple of weeks
You're just a pussy. Getting yelled is the least of your problems in boot camp. You get used to it real quick, and by like the second week of boot camp, you don't react to yelling any differently than you would to someone speaking at a normal volume.

The actual 18-20 y.o. male requirement is 12:15, but I was just saying that you should be doing 14 mins at most if you want to be able to cut it down during boot camp without feeling like you're going to die during the final PFA.

What was it like as a woman in boot camp?

What things should I study on the asvap?

I just got out a few months ago. I was an Infantrymen. Just did the one contract and got out so I could start going to school. I liked the experience. Of course it's easy to say that now after it's already in the past. Truly, many of the best and many of the hardest days of my life were in the Army. I entered as a total fatass. Was so fit by the end of training that I was one of the recruits offered an SF contract. I always had an interest in military stuff and guns so I kinda adjusted pretty quick. One thing you will hear a lot in the military is the number one way to succeed is to simply "be at the right place, at the right time, and in the right uniform."

lol why would you join the army just go air force or air force guard

You can take the ASVAB, Enlist, and Deploy in span of 6-12 months depending on state and branch. I took the asvab 7-8 years ago for shits and giggles and got a 95 (failed the tool/shop section).

Used to be on base at Ft Gordon in Georgia a while ago.

All I remember thinking to myself every time I went to the huddle house or to get food is why is everyone so fat and who is allowing this?

Also there was a brainwashing "academy" for school dropout children to enlist that their parents would send them to. Scary stuff.
There are study books I've seen that you can get that tell you everything that's going to be on the test. The test is easy as fuck though so I wouldn't worry.

This thread needs to glow harder.

It's honestly the best decision I made in a while. I got free health care and they pay off student debts!

Yas Forums is monitored by NSA nigger all the time so why bother?

I did an Army Reserve contract for 8 years. A lot of the experience depends on the unit you get assigned to. My advice is don't do guard or reserve. Having that 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer was a serious pain while trying to work and and go to school. Then there was mobilization...what a shit show.

Just go active duty for 4 years if you're going to do it. Learn a skill if you can with a shorter contract. Then be done with it.

4 years is too long though.

i think you can get shorter contracts but i think they're for shit jobs.

Army
>Did it take much to get prepared to serve?
Yes. Paper work
>Why did you choose to do so?
Artillery Forward Observer. Am now a cav scout
>Are the notmalfaggotry levels similar to regular life?
Depends what you mean, the Army is not civilian life but sometimes it is and it can be annoying because its a culture clash. What I did notice is that if youre good at your job and most of all FIT then your status as either a beta or a chad can be overlooked. I was a loser in HS, got bullied, had no friends but then I joined the Army and thrived because I was super fit and could handle living without my phone, IG, facebook and being yelled at because I lived that mentality before joining. I was untouchable in my first few years.
>And what's the deal with w*men in the military?
The biggest whores on the planet, its not an exaggeration either. Stay away from them. They all join to get dick and be the centre of universe. They all come from broken background, sexual abuse, they get tattoos, they get boob jobs, they get pregnant to avoid deploying. This is all in a 4 year term. The amount of dissension they cause is terrible, totally fucks up the dynamic of the male social world throwing a cunt into the mix. Suddenly the alpha male isnt an anlpha male because the girl disapproves of him. Its pathetic how men, even soldiers act when theres some pussy thrown in their face.

>Stay away from them
that was my experience, too. jesus fucking christ. so much drama over some girls, and what's worse is that some of them love it.

>got selected for MSOS
give us your stats user, mainly pullups and how much you can ruck march

>The biggest whores on the planet
Just what I was worried about. I would hope they'd be treated the same as men and that sort of dynamic wouldn't have such a chance to emerge in the first place.

6 ft 190 lbs. FILBE was like 120 lbs. That and a rifle. 29 pull ups.

>and what's worse is that some of them love it.
They all love it. They use the excuse of 'well its not my fault they want to fuck me, youde do the same" when it is entirely their fault for placing themselves in that situation knowing full well what would happen.
>I would hope they'd be treated the same as men
They dont, they get treated better. They use sex to gain power. What they usually do is fuck all the popular guys or the most popular chad NCO and essentially become his queen. They dont get shat on when they go to sick parade or get injured which is alot, they get promoted and put on courses faster, they dont have to serve as long as men. Its fucked up.

Ok chad. Seriously I envy guys who are lucky enough to have the smoothest careers and get through their enlistment happy and accomplished. Mine was fucked from the start. i wanted to go airborne then SF then get out and be a cop and join the TRT but it never happened, all because i told them I had asthma as a kid and had dislocated a shoulder a week before. if I had kept my mouth shut I would go in, did what i wanted and Ide be happy.I would have gotten my wings, gotten my beret, gone to afghan and or iraq, done SFthen go out happy and satisfied. Now Im broken failure, 30yo whos never made it passed private, never deployed to a war and am basically an alcoholic. Im too old to recover and try again. I might get fit enough but as a 30 I wouldnt be able to take orders from men younger than me and that wouldnt work in an SF team.

>Army
>National Guard
Sorry I'm not a brainlet. I'm literally joining the Air Force after I get my degree this semester.

don't get a medical job unless its lab/radiology/admin admin etc. medical jobs are the fucking worst for people that hate dealing with people. it's really fast paced chaotic and stressful. i was in the air force for a 4 year contract. i thought it would be easy because the "lol chairforce" meme. let me fucking tell you something, it ALL comes down to the job and squadron. my job was a major part of why i never reenlisted. just go guard.
>And what's the deal with w*men in the military?

women ruin everything. once you let women in, they start complaining about shit and they implement lots of new rules to make the women happy. almost all of the military is safe space pc fake positive bullshit. the only place where you can just bullshit and be boys with your flightmates is special forces or infantry just cause there aren't any women there yet.

join the air national guard, it's much better

you just proved him right by saying that getting yelled at is the least of your problems.

>you'll get used to it
not an argument. by that logic, death is okay.

Nah I wanna go full-time thanks though. I don't give a fuck about money. Just wanna make something of myself at this point.

What are the downsides between lying and being truthful, I could enlist now but there is a possibility that I could be found out. It is a medical condition and it would bar enlistment but I am desperate.

How do you become an officer? Do you apply for that or do you have to go to school?

You need a degree to become an officer...

I got a degree

user had to lose 83 pounds to join. not hard walked alot every day which helped train for ruckmarches. highest I've heard of was 286 lost to get in.

If it's nothing debilitating and you can still PT then nobody cares. Probably over half of all enlistees lie about past drug use and health conditions.
Varies a fuckton by branch, but you need a bachelors for all of them.
t. muhreen officer

Any euro anons here?? Is anyone in any ,,gendarmerie"? ... Been struggling to figure out the difference between them and a regular police force for a while

Ok then join a branch and go to officer school... The Air Force is most likely going to be the most difficult branch to be an officer in btw...

What degree? Which branch do you want?

I got a humanities degree, i was thinking of navy but i aint too good at math

Ahahaha an officer on r9k yeah right omg dont make me laugh go OCS usmc prove us wrong

What does that even mean? Joining the Air Force is a shitty job you're locked into. It's not going to help you find your purpose in life or allow you to feel as though your work is worthwhile. My job is a massive pile of bullshit.

it doesn't. but it does allow a man's nature to come out through freedom of servitude. seen it break folks and they just show everyone the shitiest side of humans, publicly too as being in a unit is like being back in elementary school. so much interpersonal drama and people talk. Of course the middle road is always good. and than you have people who grow in age, maturity, values and thrive. so just like being a civilian it essiently is just up to the individual and what one considered is being a man. so many connotations, ideas and feelings are associated the idea of our boys should grow up to be manly. I think there is translation errors .

It's doable but do know that it'll be tougher to get in, and if you do, you'll be doing a lot of math. Might be better to look into army.
OCS wasn't even that had, TBS was way worse
