This is the second time I've made this thread. Sorry for that, I'm just interested in what robots think of guns and whatnot, as it's started to interest me.

What would be the best all-round first time handgun? I would like to carry, target shoot, and defend my home, what are my options? I can afford at most $600.

>People into guns seem to have an extremely aggressive "under siege" mentality that has only gotten worse with time. They don't see themselves as part of "normal society" anymore which is why the red flag laws are so effective and rightfully feared.
Well, yes, guns as a hobby/societal concept have been under siege. It's ludicrous to try and suggest otherwise. Therefore, their mentality is more or less justified. Furthermore, you must understand that US gun culture doesn't have its underpinnings in "hunting" or "sport", it is based on the notion of revolution against a tyrannical government. The US is effectively the only nation, even among generally pro-gun nations, with this sort of cultural mentality.

I would also like to disagree with the notion that "gun culture" scares normies even in places where "gun culture" is strong. This is simply not true. In rural areas, owning a gun is just a fact of life. Yeah, maybe /k/ boogaloo culture isn't common, but it also isn't terribly uncommon, and people there certainly aren't scared of owning firearms and using them. People just don't respect how extreme the city/rural divide really is.

Honestly, any person who is into effective combat isnt ever going to be normal in a world where people survive by being unintimidating laborers. You're sending a message to the ruling class that you think about how to defend and destroy for your benefit, and that you don't just want to get along as well as possible with whatever system you are made to live in. Even though the majority of gun owners and even civil uprising larpers would probanly never actually do anything, they still spread a dangerous idea to the populace that you can actually fight for life and resources rather than just surviving by your rulers terms. Of course they want that banned, the "man" of today is nothing like the man of history who was meant to be a living, fighting force for his grouos interests. The modern man is a tiny piece of a massive herd of indistrialized workers whose only real goal is to work and make more workers. A fighting man no longer has a place in society, and if left unchecked will destabalize the carefully crafted machine that the elite worked so long to perfect.

lol same post number
In all seriousness though, the people owning guns as a fact of life in rural areas probably don't think highly of the boogalootards that are driving this marginalization. I also don't believe the bigolo gigolo idiots are going to accomplish anything other than permanently ending gun rights when one of them inevitably decides to act out their memes on innocent people.

It's somewhat of a generic response that I envision most /k/ autists would disagree with, but probably a Glock 19, or any other 9mm Glock. If you live in a more temperate climate with strict concealment laws, you may want to consider downsizing to something like a Glock 43.

The truth is, there is very, very little technical difference between effectively every polymer-framed handgun on the market. The differences come down to extremely minute, subjective things, such as "how good it feels in the hand". Glocks are simple, reliable handguns with an enormous aftermarket. Also, they tend to come with 3 magazines as opposed to 2, as is the case with most other handguns. There may be other handguns that are better "out of the box" for you, but as an "all-around" handgun, you simply can't beat a Glock.

Problem with glock right now though is I can't find anywhere online in stock.

The divide is most likely not as one sided as you'd think. I don't doubt that closer-knit communities would be more liable to organize in an event that warrants it, like overwhelming tyrannical overreach (not that I think this scenario is likely given that the elites are quite good at the "slow boil", but I digress). If anything, these sorts of people are far more true to the "boogalo" mentality than boogalotards are themselves--they don't fetishize a revolution or societal breakdown, but they value independence and their local communities very highly. The average boogalootard lives in the city and gets excited at the idea of being pitted against his fellow man.

Now is really not the best time to be looking for weapons or ammo, anyway, given all of the COVID-19 retardation.
