What many people dont know is that bio availability of zinc from supplements never really excede 50% for the most bio available sourc. The students in the excercise study were given a total of 240mg of zinc per day (that is for 80kg bodymass, dosage was dependent on mass). the 240mg was about 50mg of essential zinc, meaning about 50mg is what was actually absorbed by the body. that is mor than 3x daily reccomended intake. Continuous supplementation of such high levels of zinc can cause problems, so taking a Z break once in a while is reccomended.

Around 15 mg. High levels of zinc have the opposite effect on T and can lower it. Get too little and youre fucked, get too much and its bad too. Theres a safe zone of under 40mg daily.

Also important note, do not consume pill mg with the abosrable dose of the substance. 50mg Zinc-Citrate pills only contain 17mg elemental Zinc. So look up what % your supplement formulation is ie zinc chelate could be different..
