I live in a situation where im not able to go to boxing / fighting gyms. (Money, time, family) I am scared shitless of fighting and confrontations. I have never been in a fight in my life and im a giant pussy.
Can i just buy a punching bag and practice at home? With studying literature about fighting?
You can get like ok at boxing? A big part of boxing is sparring, sparring is king, albeit you can learn a lot and put yourself ahead of the curve by punching the bag bare knuckle, learning combos, proper punching technique on the bag, footwork whilst punching the bag, regular footwork drills, a lot of cardio like i'm talking some serious cardio.
I've done boxing for 8 years since I was 14 and i'm telling you, you fucking need sparring but you can work on other fundamentals before that. Watch UFC, old pride fights as well, I've thrown up triangles and done hip escapes, thrown up armbars and even a judo sweep one time in real stupid fucking bar fights and i've never trained Jiu Jitsu seriously just wrassling with buddies and studying how MMA fighters use their body in real fights.
It's much more difficult to unlearn bad technique than learn gpod technique. Just visit classes >inb4 rona You didn't go to classes before rona eother. Just wait the few weeks and shut up. If you actually want to train for fighting already jump rope stretch and do strength training.

absolutely not just buck up and go to a boxing gym, if the gym is worth training at, the coaches will gauge your skill level and train you accordingly just get in good shape before you go, you don't want to be that fatfuck that's gassing after a round of pads
Blake Perez
No. One because you'll inevitably fuck everything up without a coach telling you what you're doing wrong, and second because it's not boxing without sparring. Why do you even want to practice combat sports when you're afraid of fighting.

>just get in good shape before you go, you don't want to be that fatfuck that's gassing after a round of pads What a dumbshit advice, you go to the gym to get in good shape. Delaying it because you don't want to look like a scrub is retarded, if you're a newbie you're going to gas out on the bag after 10 seconds anyway.

whose right?
Kayden James
Everyone's telling you to go to the fucking gym.
William Gutierrez
sure, then let me rephrase my point: OP, at least be able to run a mile before you go to a boxing gym, lest you want to spend your time there doing burpees rather than actually improving your skills
