I shot a gun in my basement a few days ago (yes I know I'm a fucking retard) and my ears have been ringing since. Especially the ear that was closer to the gun. But I can live with a little bit of ringing but the odd thing is the worse affected ear has a strange thing where it the ringing ramps up and down in intensity randomly and it's very annoying. Is this going to go away with time?
I'm kind of concerned about the hearing damage. I've been to concerts without hearing protection and also funny car races where my ears rang for a couple days but it always went away, but the way my ears ring now is pretty bad. Any tips other than just going to the doctor?
Might be stuck with it, I've had it for 13 years from being a scene kid in the 2000's. You hey used to it and it doesn't get worse if you make sure to keep up with your hearing protection from now on.
It's probably from some hearing damage.

gonna need more details on the incident to properly diagnose
It was on purpose and I'm an idiot, no further explanation.
I've been on a hunt where I shot a shotgun without hearing protection and it wasn't that bad so I thought "just once for fun" in my basement with my new AR-15 wouldn't do too much. The range nearby has been closed up for a while due to the Coronavirus. I shouldn't have shot without muffs or shoot a gun inside my own house in the first place, but I didn't know how just one shot would scramble my ears up like that.

Think of it like you fucked the calibration of your ears, your brain filters out alot of noise, and now it doesnt know what the fuck is is going on , because you peaked the mic, recommend staying in relative silence for as much time as possible, if you are lucky it will go away.
Jordan Perez
did you shoot it as you would if you were going to take an actual shot? Its possible the shock wave could have ruptured an ear drum and thats the damage you can hear rather than it just being a really loud noise, just pulling that out my ass though
Zachary Foster
>shooting .223 >in a confined space lel. Also, what did you shoot into?
Jayden Wright
Lmfao, go post this in /k/ so we can laugh there please

Search “Liam stops tinnitus” it will get better. Tinnitus could heal if we weren’t constantly bombarded by wifi and radio radiation
Adam Martinez
yeah back in the good old days people used to stand next to explosives in extreamly confined, echoy spaces all the time
Jonathan Martin
Welcome to Tinnitus OP, I've got it from being a retarded and going to concerts/band practices without hearing protection constantly when I was younger.
You get used to it, I only ever notice it like a couple times a week.
Dylan Kelly
You mean like in the bowels of a ship lined with cannons lmao
Matthew Gray
This
But I'd also advise to go to a doctor asap
Camden Barnes
pretty sure the cannon fired outside of the ship einstien, otherwise I think they would have more pressing things to worry about than tinittus
Liam Allen
>shot an ar indoors, in the basement where sound is even less likely to escape
Tinnitus is modern. Loud noises are not. 30% of the population has tinnitus and most of them have never fired a gun w/o ear protection or have been front row at a concert
Nathaniel Johnson
Schizophrenia is modern. Loud noises are not. Its the jewish radio waves from the wifi boxes just listen in closely to the tinnitus bro, listen can you hear them? they don't want you to know bro, can you hear them? They are trying to hide the voices!

Sort of. Not shooting with good form. Nothing coming out of my ears though, so I don't think I ruptured anything. But who knows.
A few layers of cut up 2x6s.

Idiot Listen: Go See a doctor immediately. You are in the process of losing all your hearing, a few days is already way too long. During my military service some one shot a Single round in a Bunker without hearing protection and was immediately sent to a doctor who gave him cortisol or some shit injections. He only lost 40% of his hearing in the coming days, without the medical attention He would have gone deaf. See a doctor ffs.
