Sometimes I do, like sometimes I like going on a long hike. It releases endorphins and clears my mind. I’m not a roided our gym rat but I definitely feel better when I exercise regularly.

i like the proces of getting stronger

I get a bit of a high from lifting heavy things and getting sweaty. I kind of abandon sets and just lift until I'm physically unable to, practically roaring in pain and pride. I'm not even fucking around, lifting gets me high.
I guess my answer would be yes, I do enjoy working out.

i fucking love it. im a god damn slut for a juicy pump or a hard strain.
god i wish i had a pump right now

I enjoy summer when i lift outside and do olympic lifts
In winter it is cold and i do powerlift in shed this i do not enjoy

Health, it feels good after, and I have the added bonus of accumulating strength.

I fucking love it. Rest days are PAIN

I love lifting weights, there's no better feeling than walking out of the gym after a great workout. It's one of the few hobbies where hard work actually pays off.

Makes sense, pretty much same here
Problem with lifting is eventually you hit a plateau so it just becomes maintenance. You can of course put in even more time and effort but at that point your life becomes centered around lifting...
Very interesting, I have gotten this feeling in the past but it can happen pretty inconsistently and when I do get it more regularly I feel like I get used to it so it's not as motivating.

Getting there. Sometimes right before gym time I'm dreading going, but then I get there, knock out my sets, and feel really fucking accomplished, especially when I really watch form, and can feel the DOMS the next day in all the right areas.
Fuark, I love being barely able to walk the day after a really good set, and doing some bw squats to stretch through the pain and get the blood flowing. I love going to pick a drink or something up and feeling the pain in my biceps, and flexing against myself to increase the pain a bit more, and pretend I'm curling my drink and making a really strenuous lift, then letting it loose to relax the muscle.

To hell with women, I lift for DOMS

I enjoy the mental fortitude that comes with it, and my improved performance in sports.

Music helps. Other than that, hype yourself up and put your mind somewhere else. I find that pushing yourself just a little bit more than usual and screaming autistic shit like "glory" helps you go that extra mile and get that feeling.

when I have a ton of energy and adrenalin nothing can quite beat it

>Decide not to get directly out of bed
>close my eyes, rest hands on chest, feet together
>Meditate
>Nothing but bad thoughts, mental images, and negativity.
Isn't meditation supposed to be good for you? My thoughts are fucking trash.

Yeah, getting out of the gym after a great workout does feel really good. Unfortunately I often find myself wanting to get it over with as soon as possible, so even if the payoff is great it's always a chore to get there.

DOMS is one of the best things about working out, feels like it's proof of my hard work and I love it.

I do think it has a lot of merit as an exercise in discipline.

Music is a must yes, although that can be a double edged sword because some days I have the perfect tune for my mood while others it's just some background sound that doesn't help much.

Of course, only people who don't lift think it's a chore

What kind of music do you listen to? I might have recommendations.

This, though when the opposite is true it can be hard af

You have good days and bad days. Sometimes it feels amazing and sometimes it’s just a tedious grind.

I love lifting, absolutely. No music just me, the weights, and savoring each lift as much as I can.

I love hitting PRs, looking good and the feeling of gradual, difficult success gained over years (this most of all)

>Music is a must yes, although that can be a double edged sword because some days I have the perfect tune for my mood while others it's just some background sound that doesn't help much.
I know exactly what you mean. Some days are I feel lethargic and music can't help me. Other days when I feel good i can really get hyped up to music and my lift isn't torturous. I used to be happy and hyped up every time i lifted but that feeling faded with time.

I love it, but I've been losing my drive for it lately. I think it is just because I prefer strength training, and since I'm cutting rn I've dialed my volume back.

A bit of both. I wouldn't work out if it didnt have health/strength/aesthetics benefits, but then again it would feel cheap and unfulfilling if I could just make a wish and wake up perma-jacked the next day. The act of working out is itself quite cathartic and meditative.

Have been lifting for well over 6 years now, I disagree.

Depends on my mood, it can range from glitch / electronic like nalepa to nordic music like wardruna, synth pop like chvrches to rock like muse or evanescence, music from movies, etc.

Yeah, only days I actually look forward to the gym is when I'm full of energy.

Earlier on it was commonly amazing and well worth the effort. Over time it's become a huge chore for me.

I've had those kind of workouts sometimes and it feels great, unfortunately can't seem to keep it going.

The last part especially, I agree it's worth it.

Describes my experience very well.

I don't want to shit on your taste but I don't feel like that's the greatest hype music.
The Wardruna is definitely good, awakens the primal parts of your brain, especially with the drums. I'd look into Danheim, Heilung, and Folket Bortafor Nordavinden. Anything with heavy emphasis on drums or plodding/galloping beats is 100% great for hype. Power metal is kind of an obvious one but I still feel like I should mention it. Folk metal and certain death metal bands like Bolt Thrower are fucking great for getting you hyped up.
Other than that, those gay "epic music" channels on youtube sometimes have some gold. Found some stuff that's pretty 40k-ish and I'm either getting heavy Astartes or World Eater vibes while my arms scream at me.

Bottom line is heavy beats with emphasis on analog-sounding drums.

I like working out
Gives me such a boost in energy, it's better than sex

I like it because its literally the only time I get to get very fucking angry and hyped up in my otherwise boring life

I like chest, triceps and biceps. Shoulders are okay but Im not a huge fan of legs/back but I try to do it anyway

Thanks for the suggestions, power metal works pretty well but ultimately I've come to realize the type of music doesn't really matter as long as it gets me going, and pretty much any genre can do that if it's in sync with my mood, I even got some nice pumps from ambient music at times. That might just be me though

I wouldn't go that far but the boost is great yeah

I get that but I find it difficult to keep that hype feeling when you've been at it for years, it just becomes another part of the daily life routine where I'm just going through the motions for the most part.

Fair enough, whatever works for you, man.

I hate working out right before I start, but usually end up enjoying it while I'm doing it. It's just working up the drive to begin.
