For me personally, going to bed at 22 and setting my alarm to 4:30 is enough sleep, working out right after gets me awake, and by 8:00 I feels as aware as I usually only do by noon.
I'm definitely sticking to it, its not nearly as bad as I thought.

Sleep requirements are genetic. 7-9 hours is the window for the vast majority of people. If I get less than 7, my mental focus is noticeably diminished. If I get less than 5, I'm literally retarded. I feel best if I go to sleep at 10:30 and wake up at 6:30. If you have the gene for requiring little sleep, good for you, but for most people, 7 is the minimum, which means going to bed at 9:30 at the latest, but realistically more like 9:00 to actually fall asleep on time, and even then a 4:30 wakeup means your probably operating at you minimum normal range of mental acuity. 5:30 wakeup seems more realistic for most people, giving you a solid 8 hours. And some people will always need more.

waking up early is incredible. you literally get extra time in your day, in a way that you don't if you stay up late. On days when I wake up early I get more done before 7am than I would normally do all day.
Most days I do 530 because I don't get to bed before 10 due to kids usually, but if I get to bed closer to 9 than 4:30 is gametime. This morning I woke up at 5 (asleep at 930 or so) and before 7:15 I

My theory is that hormones also play a role as well, since when I was on NoFap with a 161 day streak, my sleep quality improved with only needing a little bit of sleep, though there was some evidence of feeling a little tired so just needed an extra half hour to 60 minutes to feel the full refreshment. Jacked off and the next day I felt the same sluggish feeling when I was addicted.
