Bulking on SS

>inb4 T Rex memes
Hey Yas Forums. I'm basically a weak as shit dyel, but i'm also a bigger guy at 6'4 sitting around 200lbs. Should do the program on a surplus? I don't want to get fat as shit, but at the same time i'm mostly interested in being a big guy (for you), and not so much aesthetics right now.

What do?

Bulk. At 6'4 you you won't be a big guy for you until you hit 275.

Thanks fren. I just want to get fucking massive and strong.

What's your waist size around the navel?

read ss dumb nigger rippetoe literally says you only gomad if you are auschwitz and complaining that "i cant gain weight"

otherwise eat lots of carbs and proteins don't be scared of eating 3-4kkcal but use your own judgement and common sense

carbs because the body doesn't really like to convert them to fat, it's two different chemical compounds and the energy it takes to deposit carbs as fat is like 30% carb kcal or someshit, don't remember might be less + it's not triggered at all if you just overeat on oatmeal/potatoes slightly

btw protein requirements might be a function of height not weight, I've heard something like (height in cm - 100)*1.75 from an experienced bodybuilder but idk

sorta makes sense to me because if you're a fatass you don't need to feed fat cells with protein & some big dudes I know eat way less than 2g per kg as well

You literally have no fucking clue what you are talking about.
its bw x 1,8grams = daily protein in grams.
You are just throwing some shit in the air hoping something reasonable runs out of your mouth. Just reread your last 2 sentences and judge your own retardness. KYS

Unless you want to be a marathon runner you can stand gaining some weight. This is the price you pay for being born tall. Punch your height into here to see.

I'm gonna ask this here because i don't want to make a new thread.

Is Greyskull LP better than SS?

Do a high volume powerlifting routine.
Greg Nuckols, world champion powerlifter, explains why here.

Tl;dr don't fall for the SS meme

Eddie Hall is 6'3".
You should add muscle, just don't be a total retard when it comes to nutrition.

SS is good to read if you're brand new solely for the physiological breakdown of what is going on when you work against gravity with your body. I started lifting on deployments but didn't think about what I was doing, so never progressed and injured myself. SS showed me how to do it, but take what you learn and use a different program if you're brand new.

How come Greg Cuckols dont have any beginner templates?

Isn't that basically "powebuilding" ? Meaning basic powerlifting with added high rep accessories? Doesn't seem that complucated desu. It's what Doug Young used to do as well.

Middle pic is superior. Peak bloatlord.

Checked.
If I had to guess I'd say that left to right he's 210, 420, 330.

Just gain the weight slow. Thats the key to not looking like shit. Ive gained 75 pounds over 2 yeara. If I gained that 75 pounds right away, Id look like a fucking slob

Read the actual book. Follow what it says. Don't read a synopsis, don't read that cool article on it in T Nation. Just fucking read the book. Rip would probably tell you to gain weight, but he would tell you to eat real food and not do GOMAD. GOMAD is not for you. You're likely outside of the age range, and you're probably above the weight range for it.

I will. I never planned on doing gomad btw, just eating whole foods on a surplus.

I was basically in the same situation as you when I started, 6'3 and I was around 190lbs and ended up cutting first because skinnyfat and kind of regretted it, I got lean but still weak and dyel, felt like a wasted a lot of time.

Pretty much.

I think he does, it's in his 28 free programs.

As a guy who bulked to 275 at 6'2" I can tell you it's not worth it. There's a limit to how much muscle you can grow. Hit your 1.5g/kg protein. Hit your 300-500 calorie surplus. By all means. Just take your damn time. When I was on GOMAD + 1lb beef daily I was probably at a 1,500 calorie surplus. Don't do that. I beg you. You don't want this belly, man. Whole handfuls of fat just hanging off your abs. It's hell. Also your cardio sucks when you're fat.

Can confirm. I'm almost 260lb right now and everything is more tiring than it should be. I'm going to have to start pushing conditioning, since I pretty much stopped when I bought a home gym earlier this year.

I mean to say I stopped doing conditioning. I did not stop strength training.

The key here is bulking slowly, and not bloatmaxing like a retard right out of the gates with 5000 calories. Add a bit, see how you feel, if it's not enough, add a little more.

I'm not 260lb because I was bulking. I am just naturally a big eater and being sedentary in quarantine is making me gain a little weight. I already started making changes, because I think 230lb was a good spot to be in for me at 6'1" for strongman.

You're a big guy, user. Good luck on your strongman pursuits.

Nice. Post body when you make it. First bloatAnon here and I love the improvements I've seen in conditioning and I'm still 265-270. The idea is to do heavyweight wrestling and MMA and I'm thinking ~245 will be best

Eddie is a freak, he was muscular as a child, he cannot be used as a template

I was fat when I started SS and I ate a shit ton during the time I started. I went from 230 (at 5'11") to 260, switched to Texas Method after about 10 months with 1RMs at 501 Squat, 335 Bench, 511 Deadlift. I am kinda glad I focused on just getting stronger that first year but I didn't have to eat as much as I did. People are right that you should aim for eating a surplus but don't go overboard. I'm at 245-250 right now with good muscle and that's where I'd like to stay.
