I was able to do a 55kg ohp before I can squat 70kg
Depends where you start from

Hit 1 first then 3 then 2. Stuck at 3.5

I have long arms and I'm 6'2.

1 is ironically the first one I got. Followed by 2. I am nowhere near 3. I am deadlifting 375.

Hit 1 first, then 2. Never cared for 3 or 4, Focused on getting my 200 OHP instead

stop push pressing you faggot, you're skipping half of the movement

Push pressing is a more athletic lift fat faggot

that's a valid reason if you're an athlete doing sport specific training
if you're only lifting for strength or hypertrophy push press is an ego cope lift because you want to press bigger numbers
if you were actually concerned about explosiveness you would be doing cleans

1 is a warm-up. 4 is the hardest by far

I lift to look like an athlete. No one wants to look like Rich Piano(RIP).

For me it was. Even at 32 when I started I got with 15lbs of 315 on squat, got 220 bench and 405 deadlift just from following Starting Strength rigorously. Hit 120-125 OHP very quickly and just got stuck there for way longer than I expected.

That's where you're wrong kiddo

I went 1->2->4->3

Also I wasn't push-pressing

The 1 is referring to the strict overhead press OP. I would 1.5 pl8 push press is the equivalent

You weren’t push pressing? Are you OP? My dear boy, your entire body moved!

Im currently seated dumbell OHPing 5x140lbs. Does that count?

hit 2 for reps first, then 1 recently for a single

deadlift is ahead of my squat

>dumbell
this is not a barbell

But they have bars.

2, 4, 1.. some day I will get 3 :(

Ive been making ok progress on ohp but I’m still a 148 lb twinkshit and my 1rm is 118. I’ve been eating more too but I’ve been a lot more active during quarantine so I’ve been having to up to calories. I usually ohp twice a week and do 3x5 followed by 2x10 with lighter weight. Other than eating more, can I get some tips for increasing my ohp?

And the table

3 > 1 > 4 > 2
from easiest to hardest

based shouldermaxx poster

i was far off of 2 for nearly a decade because i had shit form and didnt train bench because of it. then when i got a father in law he helped me fix my form and train overload. my PR is 280

It's totally variable person to person. I hit 1 and 2 fairly quickly, hit 4 a few months later, have not and probably will not hit 3

honestly if you ask powerlifters like fred neils, dave cassius, or even alex o'hare, they'll tell you that squats and deadlifts blow up a lot faster than your other lifts. for a long time aiden leary had a shitty total because his bench stalled so far behind his other lifts.

For me it was 4. Mainly grip, refuse to do mixed for fear of tearing a 'cep, and straps are not raw.

Ha! I'm exactly the same. 6'4

bench 255 for 5
press 155 for 5
squat 205 for 5
deadlift 225 for 5

I only do deadlift/squat twice a month and I hate doing it because I feel completely fried for days.

For me it was:
2 - 1 - 4 - 3 so very different

i’m almost at 1 already despite being less than half of all the others

What the fuck? Post body

pussy

lol

Yes that's my working set weight for deadlifts behind me.
